Yesterday when i brought my wife to a meeting , i spotted these Giant hogweed in a field , so on my way back i parked the car to take a closer look .
It was to hot to get really close , you don't want to get any blisters from this plant , and i only had a mobile phone camera with , so this monrning i went back with a 135mm lens enough to get more details from a safe distance .
For those that don't know this plant https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heracleum_mantegazzianum
zooming with a mobile phone not the best option ..
And the sun was shining to bright already so this morning after i dropped the wife at work , i went back there with my Sony A7II camera and a Minolta Rokkor 135mm lens . All above images are created with my Sony smartphone .
As soon as i got out of the car i spotted these poppies , the bumblebees were very active already this was at 07:00 AM
But the sunlight was really nice for photography , next to thepoppies were also a lot of Matricaria we call it kamille and in the background you can also spot some thistle flowering and some flowering Rumex.
time to play with a little bokeh , this old lens still works pretty good on a modern camera. It's The Minolta MC tele Rokkor 135mm f2.8
slightly different composition
switching to portrait to get some blue sky in the picture
i just love the soft bokeh of this lens
a flowering Rumex
still not sure which one to keep of these 2 photos
And look there are the big giant hogweeds again..
now we can have a closer look from a safe distance
These giants are +/- 2.5 - 3.5 meters high they can grow taller
a lot of insects are feasting on the flowers , but i can't get that close to make macro photos without risking blisters on my skin.
i guess i should add a 300mm macro lens to my wanted list for that 😂😂😜
people often dry these flowers and use them for decoration , but the risk for blisters is not worth it .
But these plants won't probably be here next year since they are starting to develop this piece of land in to light industrial / comercial area .
This one is still growing and will start to flower soon.
The flower looks like cow parsley only it's a lot taller and bigger .
I also spotted some flowering Juncus acutus, so we know it's a wet area
lucky for me it hasn't rained in a while, so i can keep my feet dry today.
A flowering thistle with a tiny spiderweb.
And yes moving back to the car again we see the poppies and Matricaria , some people use the Matricaria for tea .
looks like the end of the road ......
From here the Giant hogweed doesn't look that high at all
Back to the car time to go home before the heat strikes again..
At the parking lot of our appartment building i spotted these red roses , i know i could have saved them for another post , but then i would be farming for upvotes right ?
So some bonus pictures with bokeh :)
And when i enterd the inergarden of our appartment complex i noticed this plant with the sunlight on it's leaves , yes another bonus picture ...
ok one more then i need my coffee ..
i hoped you liked my Sunday morning walk looking forward to your comments .
