Good day to you all ,
After visiting the hospital again for my wifes biweekly treatment ,
She gets injections in her eyes , something to do with being a diabetic .
We will be visiting this hospital for the next 3 years every other week .
On the way home I decided to visit garden nursery / garden centre and bring home some joy to look at and some fresh mint plants to make tea of for the wife.
I bought two flavours of mint tea the Moroccan with a very strong mint taste and smell
And i also bought the Chocolate one , it's like drinking after eight without gaining the weight 😜😂
The bennefit of mint plants is that they are very easy to multiply and also very strong to survive the winter .
So now we have the mint but i also need something to put them in to give them a chance to grow and survive .
So we started looking for some nice planting containers and we found these :
decent holes in the bottom for drainage
and also made of recycled plastic
now still needed something to fill the pots with ...
And to make sure they always have some water i bought 3 dishes from the same manufactory
40 liter [ +/- 10 gallon ] of potting mix should do the job , and the left overs i could use for the plants inside the house , they can alwyas use some fresh ground after a time .
so we got 3 planting containers and 3 dishes , potting mix now i need some flowering plants something that is tough enough in the sun and winter .
In my last garden i had these flowers in a big container flowering all year arround as long as you removed the dead flowers, it kept on going so ...
i got myself two Scabiosa
In my old garden there where always from these tinny white crabspiders using these flowers as their hunting ground.
in my old garden i had a pink variety , this one is more purple like.
Here is an old Photo of that pink flower with the white spider , i know content recycling is not done but there is no other way to show it in a post .
And next to this Scabiosa i also bougt 2 White Aster that will flower after the summer until Oktober / November and they can with stand -20 degrees Celcius so they wont day that easy either.
So filling the containers with the pot mix , putting in the plants , offcourse there is always the cat that thinks you need an extra pair of paws to get things done .
The container with the mint plants and a very old left foot
one container with Aster and Scabiosa on the right side corner of the balcony
And that old left foot again ..
And another container on the left side corner of the balcony with Aster and the Scabiosa .
And all three next to each other , for those that are wondering how big is that balcony the width is 2.75 meter and the depth is 3.5 meter
no idea how much that is in foot , inches or yards 😎
At least i now have some small macro options on the balcony for quick testing with settings and new lenses.
And the wife has acces to fresh mint tea on the balcony .
