Back to colour photography ....

in Photo-essay4 days ago

This is my contribution for @qurator Photo Quest for this week: Shallow Depth of Field .

let's start with the location this is in my daughter backyard where she grows succulent plants .

The camera used is the old Sony A7II and the new LAOWA FF 15mm f4.5 Macro 1:2 lens .

for those that are intrested in the lens see here : https://www.venuslens.net/product/laowa-15mm-f-4-5-0-5x-wide-angle-macro/

Succulent plants hanging on the fence in a plastic planter it's almost like a small forrest .
1 )

The Sedum rubrotinctum has a nice palet of colours in it
2 )

3 )

4 ) then i spotted a ladybug in the grass , nice subject to test the lens .
it's a Harmonia axyridis it goes by differend names multicoloured Asian lady beetle and harlequin

5 ) it was wrestling with a blade of grass i managed to get some pictures before it flew away again.

12 ) This after noon after i brought the wife to work again , i tried to find a new location for making a timelapse but it's hard to find a nice spot where i can also park the car safely.
if you don't know what a timelapse is check my post from 2 days ago with a timelapse you can fins it here : https://ecency.com/hive-106316/@stresskiller/aucvfrjuca

13 ) On my way home i decided to stop on the empty field that they are going to turn in to a commercial zone to see if there were some insects or flowers left to photograph .
I spotted this thistle flowering and some Eristalis tenax was having lunch on top of the thistle

14 ) In English they are called common drone fly , while we dutch people call the "Blinde Bij " translates in to Blind Bee .

15 ) Top view if you move gently they won't fly away that easy .

16 ) One of the last poppies flowering

17 ) And more drone fly this time on the Matricaria chamomilla , camomile most of the time they are facing the wrong direction , away from the camera .

18 ) And sometimes you are lucky and they turn arround

19 )

20 ) and for those that don't like bees or flies one photo almost insect free .

That is all for today

I think I like number 19 the most. Cool seeing flies visiting flowers. That is probably a hover fly.

It is indeed a hoverfly ,fun part of this lens you sit 30mm away from the fly with the front of the lens and because it's a wide angle 110degrees view you get all the surroundings also captured.

So beautiful flowers 🌹💗and amazing photography 😍

Thank you very much, they grow in the wild and i just show them to the rest of the world.
Enjoy your weekend .
