Welcome to Manila, Philippines ☺️

Hello everyone!

Hope all are safe and well! ☺️❤️🙏

Manila is the bustling capital of the Philippines. It is a place that never sleeps. The city is a mix of modern buildings, old Spanish-era churches, crowded markets, and streets lined with jeepneys, buses, and motorcycles weaving in and out of traffic. The air is always filled with the sound of horns, the chatter of people, and the rumble of engines. It’s a place where you can find anything you need like malls, offices, street food, nightlife. But also where patience is tested by traffic jams and the fast pace of life. The streets are always full of vehicles, and people seem to always be in a hurry.

When I was young, I was always amazed whenever I heard about Manila. In our province, most people go to Manila to work and find their destiny. And when they come back home, they always look different with fairer skin, nicer clothes, and they seem more confident. They also bring home biscuits or other gifts for family and friends, which we call pasalubong in Filipino. Back then, I didn’t really understand what was in Manila that made people change, but I dreamed of visiting it one day. ☺️☺️

That dream only came true a few years ago when I was already working in Cebu. I traveled to Manila to visit my sister and my best friend. Now that I am actually living here for quite some time, I’ve had more chances to explore and observe.

Recently, while riding a jeepney, I captured a photo of the KKK monument. KKK stands for Kataas-taasan, Kagalang-galangang Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan. It’s a powerful reminder of the bravery of the Filipino revolutionaries who fought against Spanish rule. The bold bronze figures stand mid-action, weapons raised, as if frozen in time. Even with the chaos of Manila’s traffic around it, the monument stands proudly, telling its story to anyone who passes by.

On same day, while I was on a skywalk, I took pictures of the road below filled with cars stuck in traffic.

I also saw a train passing by, which shows just how busy the city’s transportation is.

Living in Manila is very different from the province. Life here moves fast, the air is heavier, and you’re surrounded by noise almost all the time. Personally, I prefer living in Cebu. It feels more balanced and peaceful. But for now, this is where life has brought me, I am learning, adjusting, and capturing moments in this ever moving city. I’m making the most of my time here.

Have a Blessed Monday everyone! 😀😀😀💖💖💖
