Hello Asean Hive Community
I have a question for you here... Who doesn't love Instant Noodle? A funny question isn't it? I know not all people love to eat noodles, but we can not deny that many of our friends here love eat them.
Asean are land of rice eating human LoL, and the funny thing is that the second most eaten food in the past was instant noodle. Nowadays it is debatable due to the increasing people who eat breads, but in the past, instant noodle was the second most selling food after rice. Not noodles in general, but the instant noodles...
I do not know how people make their instant noodles, but I believe each region have their own style. I live in Indonesia and the most recipe people do when making their instant noodle is just add an egg, a sunny side up. We call this the lazy one, because we know egg is good and delicious so we choose to make it through the easiest way.
How's your style anyway? feel free to leave it in the comment section below.
So how instant noodles can be favorite in ASEAN? well you might debate this, but what I know is that Indonesia and Vietnam are two of the highest instant noodle consumption country. My neighboring countries, Malaysia and Singapore has Maggie as their most famous instant noodle brand, there is no way they have that brand if they do not love eating instant noodles.
The Nutrition Content
The bad side of instant noodle is that the content itself has no significant nutrition. Basically it is dominated by flour and salt, no others. So the habit of Indonesian people eating instant noodle or we call it Indomie here as the biggest brand, which is eating the noodle only without any "add-on" is very dangerous.
Basically they just eat carbohydrate (flour) and natrium (salt) only LoL
I am one of those Indomie fan. I eat Indomie about three to four times a week. However I know the dangerous from the nutrition content, which is they have no important nutrition and for people with my age, I should limit the natrium/sodium/salt consumption, it is not good for my cardiovascular.
Usually in past, I ate Indomie with egg only, but recently I have changed that habit. I add some vegetable, mostly boiled brocolli because it is easy to be made. Sometime I add an extra side dish such as fried chicken. The picture above showed the last Indomie I ate a few days ago.
Recently there was a trend or viral movement about making your Indomie Fancy. They added wagyu beef, caviar, and many expensive side dish just to make your instant noodle look very expensive. Somehow people liked it and most contents got viral that time, but I think it doesn't look like that anymore.
Well it is not about expensive or cheap, just make sure when you eat your instant noodle, add some nutritious side dish, OK? Thanks for visiting my post here.
Thank you for coming and reading my post. I live in Jakarta, Ex-Capital City of Indonesia. I used to live by making money online, that's why I like being here, on HIVE, and in #PIMP - (Paper In My Pocket) community.
