Pruning: Importance of this simple activity!

in HiveGardenlast month

Namaste!

Pruning is done not only to make the plants look well-groomed but also to promote their good growth, so this activity is also an important part of gardening. No matter how good fertilizer and water you give to your plants, if they are not pruned from time to time, you will clearly see a slowdown in their growth and there is a reason for this, which I am going to tell you about today.

This is one of my curry leaf plants, on whose thin and almost 3 feet long main stem you can see a lot of branches and leaves at the top. All these leaves are from the last season and most of them have started to dry and turn yellow. The pot of this plant is also of 12 inches size, which is a little small as per the growth of the roots of such a big plant. But since I do not want to make this plant bigger than this, I did not change its pot and cut its main stem at a certain height last season, after which dozens of new stems came out from this and it became denser than before.

Now it is time for new branches and leaves but since these old branches are still attached to the plant even after turning yellow, the entire nutrition of the plant is going to these dying leaves which will anyway dry up completely in some time. And since naturally the plants themselves drop their leaves only when they dry up completely. Therefore, we ourselves should keep pruning the plants so that their nutrition always reaches the right place and they flourish.

Like I have done this by carefully breaking all the yellowing branches of this plant, which you can understand by looking at the image above.

Similarly, about 1 week ago I pruned another curry leaf plant of mine, after which you can see how quickly new young leaves have appeared on it.
Because now the entire nutrition of the plant is going towards promoting new growth and not on saving the old dying leaves.

We all know a lot of things but mostly we don't know the real reasons behind. Now if you connect pruning of old branches and leaves with the nutrition and growth of the plant, then you will understand the importance of this simple activity. 🪴😊

Curation ke liye dhanyawaad bhai!😊🙏🏼

Flora version of Laaton ke bhoot.

😆

Do all plants require this treatment?
Back home we have left almost all the plants the same just watering and enough sunlight that all.

First Harvest bhai ne share kiya hain ghar se. Terrace garden se.

Nahi Bhai, palak, dhaniya jaise plants cut kiye to pruning nahi the end ho jayega.😄
Wahh bhai bahut fresh harvest hai, badhai ho🪴 par ye hai kya?? pay ye hai kya??

Ye palak ka ek variant hain. Andaman ka local hain.

❤️☮️

Isme ek dark pink color ka bhi aata hai na? Same pattiyan par pink or purple jaise shade mein.

Ye waalen kiya..
Haan inhe marsaa kahte hain Andaman mein
Google search mein inka naam Amaranth bataya hain.
Delicious, nutricious hote hain. Inke combination aloo ke saath bahut zabardast hota hain

Haaaannn ye hi. humare yahan ise Cholaai kehte hain. Pichhle saal pahli baar ise dekhne aur iske fayede jaanne ke baad kuch mahine humne ise kai baar khaya aur sach mein ise khate huye har bite mein feel hota hai ki ye bahut nutricious hai. So iska origin Andaman hai, Great!

Abhi ye andaman se yahan aaya tha ya yahan se andaman gaya debatable hain. But I am happy that itna awesome leafy veggie available hain market mein.

For growing curry leaves you need ample water. Keep pouring water and rice starch, you get big leaves of curry pathaa.

Rice starch?? Ye I'm sure aapka parkha hua nuskha hoga? Thank you ye batane ke liye, main isko jarur try karunga!

👍 zaroor try keejiyae

Ise use karne ki vidhi bhi bata dijiye. Kitne samay antaraal mein ise paudhon mein daalna sahi hoga aur kya ise dilute karte daalna hai ya direct?

Starch mein aap used tea ki pathaa aur onion peel bhi daaliyae. Aur ek din kae liyae rakhiyae. Phir doosarae dhin aap iskoaa sabhi plants mein daliyae. Rice starch koa aur bhi pani daaliyae aur dilute kariyae. Just one time a day you pour for the plants. Two three days once also enough.

How are you, sir @untilwelearn

I admire your knowledge of plants.

What you say is very true, this simple task has many benefits for the plant

Have a beautiful weekend
