Elden Ring: Liurnia of the Lakes and Study Hall

in Hive Gaming4 days ago

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

After two busy days, it is time to share more progress reports on my Elden Ring journey. I stumbled upon a mysterious building with some beautiful violet flowers growing outside.

This was a study hall, specifically Carian Study Hall. It was somewhere in the Lurnia of Lakes region. There was a pedestal on the table that required an object to be placed. I thought I would find this thing inside and went in.

This place was full of enemies using magic attacks and I hate that the most. I didn't focus on the magic attributes on my character so I don't have much defense against those magic attackers, nor my shield can block them effectively. It turned out to be tough, until I learned how to dodge each of their moves with some success.

It wasn't a big place, and I chose to run away from some fights, too. Hated the rats there and avoided them like anything. I reached the top with about 20% health and no flask. Got a new, shiny talisman too (and a glintstone staff for some magic stuff, not that I intend to use it). I thought this talisman would fit the pedestal because there were no other items that I missed there (except for some well-hidden things).

But when I returned to the pedestal to place this item, nothing happened. It was not the item that I could place there. So I went back in and searched the whole study hall thoroughly and couldn't find anything else of importance. I am thinking that the item is not even here. I will find it in some other study hall or building, or maybe under a random tree...who knows? lol

It was time to go out and explore more. Plenty of terrain to cover in this massive open-world game. I see many ruins and watch towers on top of the mountains.

I found a portal in the middle of a place called Purified ruins which took me to a sealed gate. Not sure when/how I can access it. Maybe some item or quest gonna take me inside. There are a lot of these secret doors and locked doors that you don't know how to open. I think for this one, I need a glintstone key. One of the guy told me that I need this key to enter the academy.

I found a map too but don't know where it points to. I still need to find maps of many regions.

I saw the finger reader and thought it was an enemy. But all she wanted was my fingers; she begged for them. Very creepy lol. She seemed to give me some cryptic message. I tried to hit her to see what happened, and just from one swing of the blade, she vanished, cursing my soul. But this old lady has no clue that I am already cursed to the brim.

I went on to clear the region of Academic Gate town. These enemies weren't too tough either.

The swamps in these parts are a bad place for me. I hate the bugs and crabs here, and some of the rotting lakes are tough, too. I am keeping my distance from that place for now. There is a big dragon as well, which I tried to take on, but it was too overpowering for my current build, and they don't give a useful reward as well, so I am not in a hurry to do it.

There are still a lot of places left to explore. More than half of the known map has not been explored yet, I think. And there is a big underground section full of mages dealing loads of damage. Time to grind more runes and level up my strength and health before taking on anything.

I am planning to go to the mini-erdtrees and defeat their bosses. I found one already, but couldn't kill that one yet and left him for a later stage. I think it is time for me to get back to it and take it down. Might take a few retries, but it has to be done sooner than later... right?

Until next time...

It's a game I have in my mind for quite a while but didn't got the chance to play it as I already have quite some in my hand and need to complete them first.
Btw, loved how beautifully you captured the moments❤️

This is going to take a long time too. I don't usually play long and challenging games like this, but I made an exception in this game. Enjoying it so far.

It looks like you're having quite a journey. The swamps and dragon might be a bit much for now, but I believe you'll be ready for them soon. Just don't be me, and you'll overcome all the obstacles, or you'll just end up playing GTA, lol.

Dying over an over in a boss fight can get frustrating, but when you finally defeat it, it is one of the best feelings you get from a game like this... those moments are why I play the game. (Sometimes I think I should just play GTA and chill too lol)

Well said there.

Sometimes I think I should just play GTA and chill too lol

Sure, you should. Then blast the city using some cheat codes, maybe.

Sorry mate, I haven't read the post or seen much of the images because it's a game I have pending and probably in a few months I'll start it ajajaj so I want to get a surprise with everything. But anyway I'll stop by to leave you my best wishes with this adventure.

it is very unlikely that I am ever going to play this game because I am not very good and have no patience for soulslike games even if you can grind to get more powerful. I do still enjoy watching other people play though and can't help but admire how some people are seriously gifted on the ol' controller.
