I'm continuing to really love playing the game realm, which is a world strategy/builder type play-2-earn game on the wax blockchain.
Its day 18 in Season 11, and I'm well ahead of where I was at this time during season 10. I can put that down to 2 reasons:
I'm doing both the basic and advanced mission daily each day. Although this costs RLM, they both bring in quite a bit more reputation than the standard missions, and this has really increased my daily reputation income considerably,
Using loadouts better, with a loadout setup for pretty much anything I do. This isnt having as big affect as doing the daily missions, but on the whole its also helping.
The table above shows my progress to date (inside the red box), with my stats as of today (yellow area), compared to my stats on previous updates (white lines) and then the change since that last update (green boxes).
I'm currently at level 16 (just got there today), which is 5 days earlier than I managed it in season 10, noting that I have about 50% more reputation than I did at this point in season 10. This is where the daily missions are making a huge difference.
The downside is that it is costing me RLM to undertake each daily mission and so I had to dip into my staked reputation - however I think it is worth it noting that my prize pool share is currently 1000 RLM higher than it was at this point in season 10 (so its balancing that out perfectly).
So although I'm spending more RLM to be more competitive, its seems to be balancing out to be net neutral, which is great.
The big difference compared to last season is that I'm now in gold league. You can earn more RLM in gold league which is good, however, its way more competitive. The better end of season prizes start at rank position 100. I'm currently 158 and doubt I'll get anywhere near 100 for the end of the season, so I'll not do so well with end of season rewards.
If I want to get into rank 100 then I'd have to invest heavily into better leader NFTs. I'm currently trying not to spend more money in the game, so if I want better leaders, I'll have to generate the funds for that from playing - which is possible, it will just take longer.
I'm using loadouts way more effectively this season than I have ever before. The loadouts store your leader and equipment settings, so that you can switch easily between them without faffing around.
As can be seen above. I have 5 settings (even if I cant spell the third one correctly !) - noting that I'm at level 16 with South America opened, and hence I can have 4 leaders providing boosts:
No. | Name | Application | Includes |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Missions | To reduce mission requirements and increase mission rewards and speed | 2 x 3 star generals, 1 x 4 star Hacker and 1 x 3 star explorer |
2 | Building | To reduce building cost and increase building speed | 1 x 2 star politician, 1 x 2 star Architect |
3 | Training | To reduce training cost and increase training speed | 1 x 2 star professional, 1 x 1 star professional, 1 x 2 star economist, 1 x 1 star professional |
4 | Reasearch | To reduce research time | 1 x 3 star scientist, 1 x 2 star scientist |
5 | Salary | To maximise my salary income | 2 x 3 star generals, 1 x 4 star Hacker and 1 x 3 star explorer |
I also have a variant on loadout 1 which optimises it for undertaking daily missions and the weekly challenge, swapping out the hacker and explorer with a celebrity (to increase mission success) and a pacifist (to increase team size).
So now I simply change my loadout depending on what task I'm doing. If I'm about to undertake some new research I select loadout 4, etc. If I'm just letting the game run on its own I pick loadout 5 to maximise my salary income so that I can earn as much RLM as possible.
So I'm happy with how this is going as its helping me across all of the main tasks I need to undertake in the game.
I was pretty lucky last season with earning rewards as the game proceeded. So far I havent had as much luck, and have only earned one green treasure token so far. But its early days, and my ships are now getting better - so I'm hoping to have more luck at time progresses. I really could do with landing a couple more leaders, even if 1 or 2 star, which would help my setup that bit better.
So I'm happy with how things are going so far, and there is a building bonus event this weekend where buildings will cost 30% less, and building speed will be 100% quicker. So I'll be looking forward to taking advantage of that as much as I can in order to help propel me in to the main stretch of the season, and hopefully towards hitting level 20 soon so that I can open up Europe.
My plan over the coming week is as follows:
- As always - grind missions is the main priority,
- Keep levelling up ships with the aim of getting more rewards from them,
- Focus on key research activities to help boost my mission abilities and rewards,
- Keep levelling up buildings so that I have good infrastructure in place for resources and training helpers.
Thats my round-up for this week. I'm really enjoying season 11 and am happy how my change in approach is working out so far.
