Hey Splinterlands community!

After months of grinding Modern Ranked since November 2025, I've faced (and beaten) almost every major Archon — Nidhoggr, Zeddica, Elowen Sylphie, Captain Frankie, Reklah, Brewmaster Abraxas, Nomos, Prophet Rosa, Avina of the Wolf, Dolfar Darflak, kaylia Silverleaf, and many more.
But Eternal Tofu? That Legendary Earth/Life dual Archon has been my ultimate nemesis.Every single time I ran into a well-built Tofu lineup, the combination of Thorns, +2 Health, Snare, and those devastating Tactics options turned the match into a painful war of attrition I couldn't win.
Until this battle.

Splinterlands is no walk in the park, but that's what amps up the excitement.A winning strategy weighs stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and beyond. That's why you must factor them all into your deck building. Toss in strong cards to boost your setups, and push hard to rack up as many victories as possible! 🔥

This is Eternal Tofu at full max.

Eternal Tofu is a Legendary Earth/Life Archon Summoner with a mana cost of 7 from the Rebellion set in Splinterlands. It's a dual-splinter Tactics Archon that has become one of the most dominant and feared cards in the Modern format (especially in higher leagues like Champion) since its release.Beating a well-piloted Tofu team is genuinely satisfying because the card is designed to be an absolute grindfest that punishes aggression, especially melee.

Eternal Tofu’s Full Kit.(Taking a look at the Screenshot)
Just look at this Eternal Tofu CV 😂👀
One summoner. Five different powerhouse abilities. Dual Earth/Life. This card is actually ridiculous:

  • +2 Health to all friendly units
  • Thorns to all friendly units (2 damage return on melee)
  • Snare to all friendly units (hard counters Flying)

Tactics (choose one set per battle):

  • Tactics Option 1: Corrosive Ward + Divine Shield to 3 units OR
  • Tactics Option 2: Triage + Scavenger to 1 unit

This is why Tofu has been my biggest nightmare since I started grinding Modern Ranked in November 2025.

The Epic Battle.
The Match That Finally Broke the Curse.

Rulesets: High Five + Outsider
The total mana cost was 53 and you are to choose splinters from Earth,Life and Death Elements.

My Summoner: Elias Max Pruitt
Elias Buffs: +1 Melee +1 Armor to the whole team + Repair + Cleanse on the tank.

My Lineup:

  • Dar Gottem Gearnut (Tank) – Melee / Trample
  • Vitassent – Magic & Melee / Charge
  • Gramel the Hunger – Ranged/Magic/Melee / Charge + Scattershot + Relentless Strike
  • Olivia of the Brook – Magic & Melee / Opportunity + Mimic(She was a star)
  • Meriput Magician – Magic / Tank Heal + Shield

This was a complete, synergistic deck. Elias gave my whole team extra punch and protection, while Meriput kept my tank alive and Olivia mimicked key opponent abilities at the perfect moments.

Opponent's Summoner– Eternal Tofu
Tofu's Buffs:
Thorns (2 physical damage returned on melee hits)
+2 Health to all units
Snare on all friendly units
Tactics Chosen: Triage + Scavenger granted to Rikauniman(making his backline scale insanely)

Her Lineup

  • Mantaroth (Tank) – Shield + Armored Strike(a massive menace)
  • Portia Nyr – Shapeshift + Painforge
  • Meriput Magician(Tank Heal)
  • Gramel the Hunger (Charge + Scattershot)
  • Rikauniman– Kindred Will + Charge (received Triage + Scavenger)

Round 1 Battle Breakdown;
This was pure attrition warfare from Round 1.
Tofu’s Thorns made every melee swing painful — my units were hitting hard but eating -2 damage in return on top of Mantaroth’s heavy armor and Shield. The +2 Health across hier team made them feel immortal.
However, my sustain engine proved superior:
Dar Gottem Gearnut became a true immortal tank thanks to ElliasRepair + Cleanse + constant Tank Heal + Shield from Meriput.
Gramel the Hunger’s Relentless Strike gave me the extra damage output my opponent lacked.
Olivia of the Brook used Mimic brilliantly to copy dangerous opponent abilities.
The +1 Armor from Ellias helped absorb the punishment while the +1 Melee kept the pressure on.
It was an absolute slugfest — one of the fiercest battles of the season. Her Triage/Scavenger on Rikauniman kept them in the game for a long time, but my focused tank support and better ability synergy eventually overwhelmed them
.

Round 2, In this round I took out her tank Mantaroth, while Olivia mimicked and collected the scavenger ability from Rikauniman and that really helped her.Can you beat that** 🤗 .

Round 2,Scene 34,my opponent lost her second monster,Portia. But my units were still eating -2 damage as a result of thorns.

Round 3,in this round,I took out her tank heal Meriput Magician, while Olivia stole another ability tank heal.

Round 3,Scene 8.Take a look at tank heal on my tank Dar Gottem gearnut,a massive +6 booster to is health.

Round 4,I took out another monster, the 4th,named Gramel the Hunger, mine was still intact.

Round 4,Scene 14,five against one.

Round 5,game over.

Key Lessons.
Ellias Max Pruitt is an excellent anti-Tofu tool when you lean into armor sustain, cleanse, and healers.
Tofu’s kit is still one of the strongest in the game — Thorns + dual Tactics makes it a nightmare in the right hands.
In High Five rulesets, quality synergy beats raw power.
Huge respect to my opponent Greece02 for bringing a top-tier Tofu build. These are the battles that make #Splinterlands special.

Battle Summary
Tofu came fully loaded — Thorns +2 Health + Snare active from the start. Every time my units hit his tank, they ate damage back. His Mantaroth was a beast, and Rikauniman with Triage + Scavenger scaled like crazy as the fight dragged on.
But my sustain core was just too strong:
Dar Gottem became nearly unkillable with Repair + Cleanse + Tank Heal + Shield
Olivia’s Mimic stole key abilities at the perfect time
My Gramel’s Relentless Strike gave me the damage edge
Ellias’ +1 Armor helped absorb the Thorns punishment
It was an absolute war of attrition — one of the hardest and most satisfying battles I’ve played all season.

Defeating a well-played Eternal Tofu is not an everyday feat — this cat does not fall easily. After countless losses, finally slaying the Tofu in a High Five + Outsider ruleset feels like a huge accomplishment.
