Prelude
Good day to all, hope that all of you are having a good week so far and having many memorable battles in Splinterlands. With many different playing styles and different players learning their cards better, many combinations and card pairings have appeared. Today I would like to share one that I use frequently in recent games.
The Tank and The Supporter
In this pairing, I can see how the pair of cards working well together and the front.
There is a tank card with good attack and flank. And the card is Drybone Megalodon. Even at level 1, this card is already having 3 melee attack, decent health and armour, which will make it a good tank.
The supporter comes in the form of Mana Warden, which by itself it is not a card that I would be using at the front but I always contemplate because I will waste 1 spot if I were to use this card but unable to hit because this card need to be adjacent to the card that it wants to boost with Shield Ward.
With that contemplation, Drybone Megalodon become the solution, benefit from the shield ward and allowing Mana Warden to strike at 2nd position. How effective is this?
So let's get right into the match.

Selection Analysis
We have only 4 splinters available for selection - Fire, Water, Life and Dragon. To showcase how good this combination is, I went with Fire Splinter since the 2 cards mentioned are from fire.
So here is my selection of the lineup. I've chosen to go with Fithe Bladestone from Dwarf Bloodline. This summoner will additional 2 armour for the lineup and also grant void to dwarves to give them extra protection against magic. In terms of the frontline setup, it will by Drybone Megalodon and Mana Warden for tank and support attacker role. I added 2 more opportunity cards in the lineup in the form of Torch Vizier and Mad Ogre Anarchist. Both of which are trusty cards that have been through many battles with me, clearing out weakened cards with a breeze. To end off the line up, I actually fielded 2 dwarves, with the first being Portly Cannoneer, a card that inspires everyone to fight, giving all melee cards + 1 attack. Next will be Swiftbeard Stout with the taunt to allow other cards to have more chances to strike before they get targetted. And that's how I setup my lineup.
On my opponent end, my opponent used Barthalamas from campaign and setup a similar form of lineup but slightly different from how I planned mine. Drybone Megalodon leads the charge and supported by superb Halfling Refugee which can strike from 2nd position now due to flank. The remaining card that my opponent fielded had a mixture of a opportunity card Vengeful Monk, 2 range attackers from campaign and also Chaos Evoker which is a strong magic attacker.
2 similar setup but mine with a little bit more focus on the abilities and buffing of other cards. Will my opponent trample over my lineup or I will be able to overcome them to victory, there is only 1 way to find out.
Round by Round Synopsis
Round 1 - The round started and I can see Swiftbeard Stout taing loads of punishment from my opponent and already down to 2 health. However, my lineup did gave them what we are capable of, lowering the health of their Drybone Megalodon and also clearing out Chaos Evoker in the midst.
Round 2 - We continued drawing blood as we continue the bombardment from all angles, the frontline continue to pound as we cleared off Drybone Megalodon, Halfling Refugee and one of the range attacking elf on my opponent lineup with my cards. And opponent after much effort cleared off Swiftbeard Stout.
Round 3 - Everything came to an end with Torch Vizier clearing the Vengeful Monk and Drybone Megalodon on the final card on my opponent lineup. A nice victory with Drybone Bone and Mana Warden both staying strong and fending off things from the front.
Battle Summary
While there was no ruleset in this match, we saw how Drybone Megalodon and Mana Warden come together and have this symbiotic relationship that benefit one another. One short of a shield to be a better tank, the other with attacking capability but unable to hit because it didn't have reach in it. Weakness covered and a newly forged combination that stands tall in the match.
