Prelude
Good day to all, hope that all of you are having a good week so far and having many memorable and interesting battles in Splinterlands. In today's sharing, I will be sharing on an interesting match that I had played within the week. Today's match and sharing will be a little similar to that of the one I shared last week where I faced another huge card that is always a headache to go up against. Somehow I always struggle when facing those big mana cards that can really hit a truck load of damage onto us.
Today's Foe
Barashkukor

Now this is a beast which strikes 5 magic attack at each level and will only get scarier as it levels up when it gains new abilities. 5 magic attack can effectively knock out 1 card per turn and this card is really so hard to go up against. A very strong card belonging to death splinter and a nightmare to cards with taunt. Almost everytime I meet this card, it is bad and I will most likely lose the matchup. Today, we look again at my lineup and how it fare when they face off with this carzy card.
Let's find out more through the battle sharing.

Ruleset: Arcane Dampening, Wands Out
Mana Limit: 40

Selection Analysis
In today's matchup, we have fire, life, death, earth and dragon splinter available for selection. Because this is wands out ruleset and also the presence of arcane dampening, I needed access to stronger magic cards and I recall I do have one in dragon splinter that hits hard for magic attack, so I had to pick dragon to pair with death which also have quite a fair bit of magic attackers.
To lead the lineup, I call upon Kavor Skarn, whom is a dragon splinter archon and giving +1 speed to Drakoshan bloodline. And because the ruleset involves only magic attackers, choices are a little limited. So in terms of lining up my lineup, Night Reaper with 3 magic attack and decent health of 9 took up the tank role. Next in line is another bigger health card but this is a big mistake that I've made by choosing Shadowfey Sheik because of the arcane dampening ruleset which will cause this card to hit with 0 damage and the life leech will not work, so this card ends up being just a meat shield. Next in the lineup is Fenmor Gorgon which hits for 2 with no further abilities. Next card is a key card for me which is Arachne Weaver which is needed for its corrupted healing to keep cards alive. Last but not least, the card to divert away damage from other cards, Helheim Demon with its taunt, flying not as useful it doesn't affect magic atacks.
Opponent used Zeddica, dual water/death archon that is able to call upon cards from both colours if they are available for the match. Thankfully there is no water splinter available. Opponent used Great Bear Druid from foundation set as their tank which has magic and melee attack. Similar strategy to what I had, opponent also had Arachne Weaver for corrupted healing and also the Helheim Demon to taunt off attacks from other cards onto it. The biggest headache that I will be facing will be Barashkukor which has furty and able to hit me for 4 magic attack due to the arcane dampening. This is going to be tough because most of my cards are not exactly high health. So I am up for a crazy match.
The fury that Barashkukor have is able going to punish me hard and take out Helheim Demon early. This is going to be a big problem with my gameplan disrupted with the fury and my remaining cards being really small and vulnerable. Is there a chance?
Round by Round Synopsis
Round 1 - Boy, I really have to thank the arcane dampening. Somehow it allowed my Helheim Demon to take reduced damage from magic even when there is fury on Barashkukor. And the main fight revolves around the 2 Helheim Demons.

Round 2 - Plenty of exchange of attacks and healing and finally my own Helheim Demon got taken out by my opponents. And now we need to see how to survive because opponent's Barashkukor steamroll the whole lineup.

Round 3 - Now it is my turn to take out opponent's Helheim Demon and now it's time to stand firm and hope arcane dampening can help sustain me sufficiently and my corrupted healing to help me stay afloat.

Round 4 to 6, Not much action happening during rounds 4 and 5. Action really happened during round 6 when Night Reaper from my side and Great Bear Druid from opponent side finally feel. Which made me really worried as I my lineup is really weak compared to what my opponent had remain.

Round 7 - With my little lineup, I was able to take out opponent's Arachne Weaver this round. Will I have enough girth to sustain through?

Round 8 - 10, Exchanges continue with me trying to still heal up as much as I can. And finally in round 10, after much clearing and Shadowfey Sheik holding the front long enough before it fell, we finally took out Barashkukor to claim the win.
Battle Summary
Thankfully, Arcane Dampening allowed me to survive the crazy damage from Barashkukor. Otherwise, it would have been 1 card down per turn. And having sufficient healing was also key to ensure health is regenerated sufficiently to hold off the big magic attacks. A surprise win yet something to really remember.
