Prelude
Greeting to all and welcome back to another new post on Adapting to Modern where I look at how I crossed over from playing in Wild Battles till today focusing and getting more cards on Modern Battles, sharing with the community the struggles, the strategies and things I do to move towards playing in Modern. Hope you've managed to have a good weekend and have been playing up your battles and earning more glint and rewards. It is now the 20th edition of this post and I am amazed we have come this far. Conclave Arcana had been in our midst for quite some time now, more and more strategies start to appear especially with loads of community sharing from the various Social Media and Community Engagement challenges where players share their strategies with the community. Let's us continue from where we left off from last post and continue looking into the Core Set of Rebellion.
Rebellion Core Set Cards
Similar to the previous post for this series, we will begin discussing card from the Rebellion Core Set. Using a similar method when I reviewed the Soul Bound reward cards, I will be discussing about the growth of the cards and will give a simple review to whether or not investing into them will level up your game play or not. And let's continue our review and look at 2 rare cards from life splinter in today's review.
Anachron Bolter
The first life splinter rare card that we will reviewing today will be Anachron Bolter. Take note, this is an elf card and will be good if we are playing the Elf Archon which will give this card execution to allow extra attacks when opponent card health reaches 2 or lower which is really good. Personally I like it that this card is a debuff for range attacker with the head winds. As it reaches towards its higher levels, it also gains repair to restore the shaved off armour. A pity is that the magic attack does not scale but the range attack stops scaling at level 3 when it reaches 2 range attack. Mana cost is a little high to accomodate placing this card in the lineup. But it also gives me a good array of elf to select from when I wanna have an all elf lineup. If possible, I think at least level 3 will be a good level to land for this card.
Thanalorian Archer
The next card we will look at will be Thanalorian Archer. This is an interesting card with look out which is anti sneak/snipe or opportunity as it reduces damage from those kind of attacks. At 5 mana, it is a little awkward as it will not be able to qualify for little league which is a pity. Stat scaling wise quite decent though I did hope for more health. A card worth getting and levelling up again as a option for elf lineup. I would say this is strong utility card that has a high chance of appearing in many lineups even when not qualified for little league. Well rounded and good abilities it possess, so a highly recommended card to at least have a copy.
Assessment
2 rare cards that are being reviewed today and incidentally both are elf cards which is something that I like. I have some bias due to my recent liking for elf cards. Both have their own kind of utility and suitable for multiple rule set. Really great to see so many cards from the blood line with a large array of abilities to fit into the lineup.
Rating wise, Anachron Bolter would be getting a rating of 3.9/5 from me. Reason for this score is due to the double attack types, debuff for range attackers and to further help the team replenish armour so that we can last longer. And because one of its attack is magic, this card will not be stranded when stuck at the front position. For Thanalorian Archer, love the lookout ability especially when handling sneak and opportunity where there is stronger survival. The snipe is not bad probably of better value if at more than 1 damage.
My recommendation will be to get both cards levelled up to at least level 3 for Anachron Bolter and Level 5 for Archer reason being that that is where damage starts to increase and give the card more value. Both are decent and worthy cards to consider. If you want to buildup Elf Bloodline, look no further, please work on these cards if you can.
Wrap Up
Rebellion do really have good cards that are available and with Conclave Arcana in the midst of it all, synergies built amongst them will yield alot of advantage in the battlefield. The modern gameplay is evolving constantly with new ways to play considering the bloodline combinations. I like how things are moving through on this and certainly hope to be able to learn more about the cards and better my gameplay on the battlefield.
Let's continue to grow and find path in modern as we journey on playing Splinterlands.
See you next time!
