Prelude
A brand new week has started and welcome back to another new post on Adapting to Modern where I look at how I crossed over from playing in Wild Battles till today focusing and getting more cards on Modern Battles, sharing with the community the struggles, the strategies and things I do to move towards playing in Modern. Conclave Arcana presale is already coming close to the end and we definitely need to get ready and adapt as fast as possible before the influx of the cards from the new set and end up getting caught cold. There will be big changes in terms of gameplay and strategy and this is why it is important to deep dive on these Rebellion core cards so that it can be nicely integrated with the Conclave Arcana cards.

Rebellion Core Set Cards

Similar to the previous post for this series, we will begin discussing card from the Rebellion Core Set. Using a similar method when I reviewed the Soul Bound reward cards, I will be discussing about the growth of the cards and will give a simple review to whether or not investing into them will level up your game play or not. And let's continue our review another 2 of the common cards from Earth Splinter after we went through 2 of them the last week.

Endless Ape

The first earth splinter common card that we will reviewing today will be Endless Ape. While this just looked like some big Gorilla, this is actually a very decent tank or final cards in lineup for earth splinter. Take for example when we are in a Noxious Fumes ruleset, while everyone falls, this card have enough girth to sustain and not only that, while everyone else falls, it gains that additional health for each fallen card. The base health of this card is really amazing and will serve well even as a tank. It will also get Reflection Shield which will protect it from blast and what not. A very strong and viable card to get possession off regardless of level.

Ujurak Mystic

The next card we will look at will be Ujurak Mystic. Another very decent card from earth as it is also qualifies for Little League. This card has Lookout ability which reduces the damage from ambush by 50% which is really something since those can really hurt and inflict good damage before even starting the match. This ability also helps reduce the damage coming from snipe, sneak and opportunity by 1. This is like a mini scout to help your lineup defensively and I think when possible, it is good to include in lineup. As this card grows in level, it also gain void which is great against magic damage. Personally, I would say this is a card that one should consider adding to your collection if you have not yet done so.

Assessment
The 2 cards that we assess today is really looking good especially that they are common cards. These are cards with good abilities and utility and when needed to be call upon, will give reliable value to the lineup.

Rating wise for both the cards, I would have to give them a rather high rating seeing how instrumental both can be in a matchup. Endless Ape should get a rating of 4.0/5 because its capability to hold off and tank sufficiently. And when it can be healed, it is going to be one tough card to handle. The only small downside which I see is that the mana cost of this card is a little on the high side and sometimes tough to fit into lineups. Next will be Ujurak Mystic which I personally would give a rating of 4.1/5 due to its flexibility and ability to fit into even Little League lineups and giving a good support to adjacent cards which is great. Only little complain is that at level 1, the 3 health is a little on the low side and can be easily "disposed" off.

Both cards to me are must haves. Both are strong utility cards that should be at your fingertips when you need to call upon them to fit the various rulesets that they can shine. These 2 are decent and do not cost a bomb. Do consider picking some up and see how they strengthen your lineups.

Wrap Up
I have started looking into the Rebellion core set cards that we need to start building up to prepare for the new set that will be coming in when Chaos Legion gets rotated out. I do hope that with the new set that will be launching soon, we can find back the vibrancy during the prime days where everyone was busy camping for cheap cards or scurrying through the rental market to get cheap rentals. Remember, if you are uncertain, there is training mode available for you to test these card out and try out how it can perform before purchasing or renting.

Let's continue to grow and find path in modern as we journey on playing Splinterlands.
