Splinterland's: Yaba's Pickle: Is it an extension to the meme world?
Splinterland's game team has announced one of the special cards, in their recent post. The card is named Yaba's pickle and matches the nickname of the Splinterlands' founder. I am not sure if the card is able to impress me. I felt that instead of Pickle, it should be some kind of Dragon card, with some high mana and interesting stats. The current card is of Bloodline Golem and part of the Water Splinter Team. Being a 4 Mana card, it saves mana costs when adding a card to the team formation.
What are the abilities in this card?
This card has Dodge, Shield, Slow, and Heal abilities. It again surprises that a new age special card does not have any of the modern skills. Also this card is too weak against magic attacks. I can say that it is an OP card in Little League + Lost Magic ruleset. It has a very fair chance of doing well if there is a low mana cost battle along with the Lost Magic ruleset. I am skeptical of playing this card in High mana battles, where I feel it can be crushed easily. The actual strength of the card will be measured in the battle, but it looks like a weak card to me.
How much will this card cost?
The card sale of this card will have 3 phases/ways.
There are 3 ways to get your hands on Yaba’s Pickle: The special SPS Stakeholders Pickle Release, the second opportunity is to purchase a pickle that comes with a GF Arcane Raffle ticket and the 3rd opportunity will be to participate in the Black Foil Arcane Auction.
Out of these 3 phases, direct card sale will happen on the "special SPS Stakeholders Pickle Release" where you can buy a copy of the card for 150 DEC, for 1000 SPS stake.
This is a common card, so having a max card requires you to purchase 400 copies. 400 copies means that you need to stake 400K of SPS, Even in this bear market of SPS it is a $4000 stake. Again, you need to pay 150 DEC per card. So buying 400 copies of this card will cost 60K DEC, close to $60 for a max regular foil of the card.
After doing this calculation, I got a strong urge to check the price of the Xenith Monk card. Regular foil max copy of XENITH MONK can be purchased for $6, and max gold copy for $20. No idea, why I am feeling like to buy 3 gold copies of XENITH MONK.
My 2 cents.
I feel the card has weak stats to be qualified as a special card. Also, in my opinion card price is too high. Since the official date of this card sale is not revealed, I am wondering if SL says it is just for fun or meme card of the Splinterlands.
