Splinterlands Social Media Challenge: Immortalis is a powerful summoner

in Splinterlands9 days ago

Splinterlands is a pretty complicated game with interesting battles with all the options available. This is a part of the weekly social media challenge for Splinterlands. This week is about a great fight where I won because of Immortalis and it's powerful abilities.

Immortalis is a earth summoner that costs 6 mana and it gives all monsters the shatter and void. It also reduces my enemy's health by 1. I have this card at level 2 so I can play cards up to that level. This is a great summoner to use because it reduces that magic damage and helps remove the armor that my opponent has.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is Armored Up. This means that all monsters start off with 2 extra armor. There are 38 mana available and I am left with the choice of fire, water, earth, or life splinter.

Immortalis is my summoner due to its effects and I think the shatter will be quite useful as it will negate the armor that my opponent gains from the ruleset after one attack. My Tank is Pelacor Mercenary due to the flying ability to dodge some attacks. After that, Regal Peryton is a fast magic monster to shatter the first monster. I have Supply Runner and Clockwork Aide with swiftness to increase the speed of my attacks as attacking first gives my team an advantage. I have a weapons training monster to add some damage to my monsters without any attack and it will increase my damage. The majority of my team is focused on ranged damage as I think that synergizes better with Immortalis and the shatter.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think that I have the advantage in this match. My opponent has a primary focus of magic damage and my summoner reduces that by half. At the same time, I have many ranged monsters so that taunt monster with void shouldn't be an issue. The only issue that I see is my opponent's tank with enrage and retailiate. Once that is gone, I think the match will be set so I should win so long as I don't miss too many attacks.

Round 3

round 3.png
My opponent lost two monsters while I only lost my tank. At this point, this match is my win. My opponent won't be ablet to deal enough damage because I have the speed advantage and Captain Katie won't get much of a chance to kill my monsters. I doubt that I will miss much at all because of that speed advantage.

I won a few turns later as I expected.

Conclusion

The battle this time around went as I expected. The ruleset added 2 extra armor to each monster so I thought Immortalis was a great choice for this match as that shatter will remove the armor with one successful hit. The double swiftness in my lineup gave my lineup a strong speed advantage and this allowed me to attack first. This gave me an advantage as I was able to quickly dispatch my opponent before he could attack. Also, my opponent's main backline damage was magic and that was reduced by half because of my summoner. Captain Katie was unable to stack any bloodlust so that gave me an advantage.

You can see my entire match here.

The range monsters were just too fast and too strong, and it easily took out the opponent taunt monster. Great win, and good SPS rewards too.

I think the rewards seem a bit higher this season. The glint/SPS seems better and I agree that ranged monsters can be very powerful if you can get through the armor.

That card is great with magic only rule too! When you know your opponent goes magic, it's gg

Yea. It's great but if you have a leveled up Psychic, it seems even better as it can debuff the magic damage. It's too bad mine isn't that high level though.
