Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge that can be found in this week's post. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because they get to learn about the game. In this week's challenge, we talk about an underrated card.
Featured cards
Dumacke Orc is a light/death monster that costs 7 mana. It starts with shield. It learns retaliate at level 5 and thorns at level 9. I have this card at level 8 so it has up to retaliate.
Where to use this card?
There are a few places where you can use this card. First off, I think it is a good card under the Super Sneak ruleset because those sneak monsters will attack it, and you can counterattack. Besides that, I think that it can also be a good tank under the Equalizer ruleset. Depending on how you use this card, you can use it to your advantage.
Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The ruleset this time is Equalizer, Melee Mayhem, and Up Close & Personal. This means that only melee monsters can be used, all monsters start with the same health, and melee monsters can attack from anywhere. There is also 32 mana available, and I can choose water, earth, life, or dragon splinter.
Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
---|---|---|---|
Helios Matriarch | 6 | Summoner | +1 speed and gladiator |
Dumacke Orc | 6 | 1st | Shield and Retaliate |
Uraeus | 3 | 2nd | Sneak and Poison |
Vruz | 2 | 3rd | Sneak and Martyr |
Katrelba Gobson | 6 | 4th | Sneak, Double Strike, and Bloodlust |
Disintegrator | 7 | 5th | Demoralize |
Mycelic Morphoid | 1 | 6th | Thorns |
Total Mana: | 31 |
I use Helios Matriarch as my summoner for the +1 speed and gladiator. Dumacke Orc is my tank because of its abilities and the equalizer ruleset. After that are three sneak monsters. One of them has poison, one has martyr, and the last has double strike and bloodlust. Then I have Disintegrator with demoralize, and Mycelic Morphoid as my last monster with thorns.
Round 1
At first glance, I think that this match is to my advantage, but anything could happen. The combination of demoralize and Dumacke Orc will work out well as a tank. My focus will be more on my sneak monsters, and I hope to kill off Olivia before it becomes too strong.
Round 4
I did lose a few monsters but, I was able to take out Olivia. I am still worried about those bloodlust monsters, but it will just be a battle of endurance. I still think that I have to the advantage due to my speed, and I should win so long as I don't miss too many attacks.
I ended up winning this match a few rounds later because I didn't miss.
Conclusion
The battle this time played out exactly how I thought it would. Dumacke Orc worked well as my tank in this fight and it also increased the damage that I did in this fight. The retaliate worked out well in this fight even when it didn't take any damage from the attacks. This gave my sneak monsters the chance to wipe out his backline, and I don't think my opponent was expecting me to use so many sneak monsters.
