Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge to share a rule set using a strategy and on this week's post. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because they get to try different strategies and earn some crypto in the process.
Featured Card
Pelacor Mercenary is an earth splinter that costs 7 mana. It starts off with the flying ability. It learns heal at level 6 and retaliate at level 10. I have this card at level 8 so it does have the heal ability. I use it from time to time because it works well as a tank.
Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is Silenced Summoners. This means that the summoner abilities do not take effect. There is also 18 mana available and I am left with the choice of fire or earth splinter.
The summoner I chose to use this time is Obsidian for its level because summoner effects don't work in this fight.
Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
---|---|---|---|
Obsidian | 4 | Summoner | |
Pelacor Mercenary | 7 | 1st | Flying and Heal |
Queen Mycelia | 4 | 2nd | Protect |
Djinn Biljka | 3 | 3rd | Weaken and Void |
Fungus Fiend | 0 | 4th | |
Total Mana: | 18 |
I plan to use Pelacor Mercenary as my tank due to flying and heal. After that is Queen Mycelia for the protect. I also have Djinn Biljka as another magic monster with weaken and void. My last monster is just a filler to tank any attacks from sneak. In this match, I rely on my tank to outlast my opponent as I focus on dealing damage to the frontmost monster.
Round 1
At first glance, I think that this match might be close. I am glad that I have a filler monster in the last spot so it will rely on whether or not my tank can survive and I land enough attacks.
Round 2
Both me and my opponent lost one monster, but mine was just a filler. The damage can still be quite tough but at least my tank won't die because my opponent has spread out his damage. So it depends on whether or not I can land my attacks.
Round 3
This match is my win. I forgot that my opponent's ranged monster takes damage every single turn so it won't survive to attack again. With my magic monsters, I won this match.
I won later that round.
Conclusion
The battle went exactly as I expected. My opponent had a lot of damage but I was able to outlast them using a tank with heal. My damage dealers were also focused on one single monster and not spread out so I was able to take out at least one monster every round. My tank stayed alive long enough for my backline damage dealers to deal damage and I am glad that I had a filler monster for those sneak monsters. My strategy worked out just as planned and I was able to outlast my opponent.
You can see my entire match here.
What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players play in a ruleset.
