Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. Rebellion has also changed the battles and I keep losing my fights recently. I didn't do that well this time around but I still did better than average with more than half of my matches won.
Brawl Result
I chose the gold foil modern brawl and got 6 wins. There was 1 guild that did not assign a participant in my brawl so there were 1 free win. My rewards for the brawl were 3,667 merits and 30.713 SPS in the 3-star category. My guild ranked 3rd place out of the 10 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. We ranked 3rd and this was our best result in the past few brawls.
Brawl fights
There were 5 that I won and 3 that I lost. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.
You can find the first match here. I lost this match and it was a close match. That bloodlust monster was too much for me. I should have gone for a weaker tank monster so my backline would live longer.
You can find the second match here. I won this match but it was a bit close. In the end. my bloodlust monster just ended up dealing the most damage and winning the match for me after a few stacks.
You can find the third match here. I lost this match and the bloodlust monster was too much for me. As it stacked up, I missed more and more attacks.
You can find the fourth match here. I won this match because of the shield and demoralize combination. It reduced my opponent's damage and he couldn't really deal much damage to my frontline.
You can find the fifth match here. I won this match because of my bloodlust monster. I was also able to decrease my opponent's magic damage so that void tank up front did a good job. I think my opponent also had bad luck with his attacks due to scattershot from the ruleset.
You can find the sixth match here. I lost this match due to my opponent's magic monsters. I couldn't do too much as I didn't have enough damage and I died from the poison over time.
You can find the seventh match here. I won this match but it was a close match. I got lucky with my ranged and magic attacks so I was able to take out enough of my opponent's attackers.
You can find the eighth match here. I won this match and I am glad that I had a good flying monster. Along with martyr, it became quite powerful and I was able to outlast my opponent to get the win. I was also lucky as most of my attacks landed near the start to take out my opponent's tank.
Conclusion
I think doing 8 fights for 3,667 merits and 30.713 SPS is a good reward for the effort. It wasn't as good as the previous brawl, but I did better than average. My guild also ranked well this time so I was able to collect a bit more in terms of rewards this time around. I hope my next brawl also goes well.
