Brawl Report #142: A great brawl

in Splinterlands2 days ago

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. 4 star brawls are rough as the teams tend to be stronger. I am still in the gold league gold foil matches and it was decent this time around. I won a few matches, and the free matches also pushed me into the positive for this round.

I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and got 6 wins. This time, there were 2 free wins because two guilds didn't submit a person for my brawl. My rewards for the brawl were 4,333 merits and 61.77 SPS in the 4-star category. My guild ranked 7th place out of the 9 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots, and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. My guild didn't do the greatest, but I was able able to do decently this brawl.

Brawl fights

There were 2 that I lost, 3 that I won, and 1 won due to surrender. So, I included an idea of the match below and a few thoughts about it.

You can find the first match here. I won this match, but it was very close. It was actually a tie as both of us died to poison, but I had the home advantage so I got the win.

You can find the second match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. I couldn't deal enough damage with all the heals on my opponent's team. It doesn't help that my damage was spread out and the return fire damaged my backline too.

image.png
You can find the third match here. I lost this match because I missed so many attacks. I guess that slow reduced my chances, but it severely decreased my damage and there wasn't much I could do after that.

image.png
You can find the fourth match here. I won this match because I had the stronger lineup. I don't know what my opponent was thinking with just one monster.

You can find the fifth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. It's hard to beat Possibilius and the level advantage also contributed to how strong my opponent overwhelmed me.

Conclusion

Doing 8 fights for 4,333 merits and 61.77 SPS is a good reward for the effort. I won quite a few matches, and lost fewer compared to last time. So I am satisfied with my result, but my guild didn't do so great. Either way, the brawls continue onwards.

A very good score, it's hard to beat possibilus

It's hard to beat Possibilius, especially when the card in first place has the dodge ability.. Decent outing though, 61 SPS to the good..

Yea. It's a tough summoner to beat. The first card didn't have dodge due to back to the basics, but the reach allowed my opponent to deal more damage per turn to my monsters.
