Brawl Report #136: A great brawl for a change

in Splinterlands8 days ago

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. 4 star brawls are rough as the teams tend to be stronger. I am still in the gold league gold foil matches and it was decent this time around. It was a bad brawl outing this time.

I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and got 6 wins. There were 0 free wins this time around so I had to submit all my fights. My rewards for the brawl were 4,143 merits and 62.222 SPS in the 4-star category. My guild ranked 8th place out of the 10 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots, and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. I didn't do so great, and my guild also didn't do so great. One thing to note is that I was in the gold league gold foil brawl this time.

Brawl fights

There were 2 that I lost, 5 that I won, and 1 that I won due to surrender. So, I included an idea of the match below and a few thoughts about it.

image.png
You can find the first match here. I won this match, but it was close. I relied on ranged damage so I was able to deal damage without worrying about the magic reflect from the summoner, and my summer reduced my enemies damage. In the end, I won because my monsters were faster than my opponents.

image.png
You can find the second match here. I won this match, but it was another close match. I got lucky that I had an opportunity monster and my scattershot worked better compared to my opponent.

image.png
You can find the third match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. The level advantage was too much to overcome with all those healers.

image.png
You can find the fourth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had the stronger lineup. Those magic monsters were too much to overcome, and my opponent's summoner made it harder to stack bloodlust.

image.png
You can find the fifth match here. I won this match, but it was a close fight. The bloodlust worked out well, as my tank monster only had 1 health at one point. The bloodlust restored some armor and health, so it barely pushed me over to win the match.

You can find the sixth match here. I won this match, and you can read more about how I did in this post.

You can find the seventh match here. I won this match because I had the stronger lineup. I reduced my enemies damage, and then my ranged damage just did the work afterwards. There wasn't much my opponent could do as I had the damage advantage.

Conclusion

Doing 8 fights for 4,143 merits and 62.222 SPS is a good reward for the effort. I did great this time around, but my guild didn't do as well. I noticed a few active people have left, so we don't have as many active members, and this is starting to hit us in the brawl fights.

Are you taking part in Guild Brawls?

Feel free to leave a comment if you read my post. If you have any questions, feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer.

Individually went good, as a guild score so and so, I wonder how much you get for first place

I think we placed 3rd place a few times, and the SPS was closer to 100. I am not exactly sure though.

What do you need to participate in a guild?

Being a guild allows you to participate in brawl, and you also get a Glint bonus in your ranked battles.

Nice wins man, very nice wins. The team did well even with the extreme matches. Gold foil battles, even the name suggests it's for pro levels lol

It's tough, but I decided to take these matches because I had some goil foil cards. It's not the strongest, but I can make do.

you're a pro legend hahaha

I saw the first game, it was the battle of shatter, very nervy game, but I think you did very well. 62 SPS to the good.

The SPS is nice, but I think things are going a bit downhill in my guild. A few of the more active players are leaving, so our brawl results aren't the best. Then again, there are no fees for staying in the guild and the buildings are decently leveled up.

That's not bad for a guild, I experienced this in my former Guild and I just had to wait for a few months before I finally left.
