Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. 4 star brawls are rough as the teams tend to be stronger. I am still in the gold league gold foil matches and it was decent this time around. I had a good result this time after forgetting to submit my matches in the previous brawl.
Brawl Result
I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and got 6 wins. There were no free wins this time around and seeing this happen again so soon is rare. My rewards for the brawl were 4,857 merits and 61.057 SPS in the 4-star category. My guild ranked 4th place out of the 10 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots, and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. My guild placed quite well this time around, even though I didn't do as well.
Brawl fights
There were 6 that I lost, 2 that I won, and 1 that I won due to surrender. So, I included an idea of the match below and a few thoughts about it.
You can find the first match here. I lost this match, but it was close. I missed a few attacks, and I think this caused my loss. The support monsters in the back were annoying, and failing to kill them was bad. My damage was too spread out.
You can find the second match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. Combining taunt with tank heal gave my opponent a slight advantage.
You can find the third match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. I was trying to outlast my opponent, but it didn't work out as my opponent had more damage than me.
You can find the fourth match here. I won this match because I had the stronger lineup. Katrelba Gobson did a great job taking out the backline from my opponent, and stacking up bloodlust.
You can find the fifth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. My opponent's summoner gave him the slight advantage over me as the ranged monsters could attack from the first spot.

You can find the seventh match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. The taunt monster was rough to fight against because I couldn't take out my opponent's Katrelba Gobson.
You can find the eight match here. I lost this match but it was close. In the end, I missed a few attacks and I couldn't kill off my opponent's bloodlust monster first. The warden add shield to that tank and I couldn't kill fast enough.
Conclusion
Doing 9 fights for 4,857 merits and 61.057 SPS is a good reward for the effort. I didn't do so great in my fights but my guild did quite well. I have been missing a few brawls, so I decided to stop waiting until the last minute to submit my brawl matches. It's better to just submit all my fights when I see it available.
