Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. 4 star brawls are rough as the teams tend to be stronger. I am still in the gold league gold foil matches and it was decent this time around. I won one match and got a bunch of free wins.
Brawl Result
I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and got 5 wins. There were 4 free wins in this match because four guilds didn't submit someone for a game. My rewards for the brawl were 4,810 merits and 73.013 SPS in the 4-star category. My guild ranked 3rd place out of the 9 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. We did great as a guild and I am loving all free wins for just being placed in a brawl.
Brawl fights
There were 3 that I lost and 1 that I won. So I included an idea of the match below and a few thoughts about it.
You can find the first match here. I lost this match. My opponent just had the stronger lineup due to the magic lineup. I thought my opponent would go for melee monsters but those magic monsters were deadly.
You can find the second match here. I lost this match because my opponent had the stronger lineup. That leveled up Chimney Wallstop with repair makes it hard to kill and I had bad luck with scattershot. He took out my fastest monster on the first turn.
You can find the third match here. I won this match and I talked about this match in my post yesterday here. I won because I placed my lineup strategically better than my opponent.
You can find the fourth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had the stronger lineup. I gave up as soon as I saw that kitty summoner and the magic monster with weapons training.
Conclusion
Doing 9 fights for 4,810 merits and 73.013 SPS is a good reward for the effort. I didn't win as many fights as I would have liked but I did get at least one win in my actual fights and the 4 extra bonus free wins was just a bonus. You can't help but enjoy those free wins and my guild placed well this time around. We got a hefty merit and SPS reward for just submitting 4 matches.
