One thing about monsoon is that everything around seems fresh and green — it's so pleasing to look at. These are a few pictures from my balcony.

I always find it calming to look at. This green succulent has a perfect spiral of leaves — it’s one of those plants that quietly stands out. It looks almost like a rose made of leaves.

The bright red flower you see is from a cactus plant. It only blooms once in a while, so whenever it does, it feels like a little celebration. The petals are soft and bold, and the flower looks even more vibrant in the soft, cloudy light of the rainy season. I love how the center stands out with its delicate white filaments and golden-tipped stamens.

The tiny yellow flowers on the fennel plant are so delicate, they look like stars on thin threads. You could easily miss them if you’re not paying attention, but once you do, you’ll find they’re so beautifully detailed.
