Hi everyone, on this occasion I want to show you something different from usual, if in previous days I often showed you about insects, for today I have something very unique to share with you, maybe for some people here are already familiar with my findings, but some others may still be unfamiliar with this object, don't worry today we will discuss together about my findings.
This is the nest of a beautiful creature known as the "Subfamily Polistinae", from this place all wasp life begins, there are several types of popular wasp nests but the nest I found this time is one of the unique ones where this nest is built in the wild with an open position, maybe you have found some wasp nests that are large and neatly wrapped and at first glance look like jugs, but my finding this time is the opposite, as you can see this nest is clearly visible where the small hole where the wasp puts the eggs, while the white cover that is visible is a magic valve made by the wasp so that their eggs are not damaged or eaten by other insects.
Polistinae wasp nests are made entirely of chewed wood fibers mixed with their saliva to form a paper-like material, this process allows the wasps to produce structures that are light, strong and resistant to various weather conditions, unlike wasps in the vespinae subfamily that tend to build nests in closed spaces such as in the ground, holes in trees and several other closed places, but Polistinae wasps tend to build their nests in open places as you can see in the picture where this wasp nest is built on dry coconut leaves.
