Hello Needleworkers,
It's been a minute here and I do miss everyone.
Have you ever thought of rewarding that one faithful client before?
I think most of us do because at the end of the year, I've seen people gifting their consistent clients with some kind of souvenir and I am not indifferent.
Today, I decided to gift my first and faithful client out of the blue.
You see, this particular client had been my backbone right from the very day I started learning how to see, she'll bring me pieces of fabric to make anything for her just so I could have enough fabric to practice with and I was very grateful.
Aside from my mom's fabrics, she's one client for whom I've damaged a few of her fabrics while learning and she accepted it with love and never made a big deal out of it.
When I became a professional, she kept patronizing me and to this day, she's still one of my faithful clients, most times I have reduced my workmanship for her because of how far we've both come and most times I've gifted her like other clients at the end of the year.
While I visited a popular fabric store in my hood, I came across this very fine crepe fabric and she just popped into my mind.
I decided to buy that fabric specifically for her but the problem was I never knew what to make with it.
As I got to my office I came across a leftover African print fabric and thought that this would make a good combination so I just sat for a moment to think of a simple dress I could make with it.
After so much meditation, I ended up making a very simple and cute style for her using the Ankara as a little gather on the knee length and for the sleeve.
I didn't have enough time to take many pictures while at work because the power supply in my country has been really bad and has been affecting me so badly.
However, I managed to take shots of the result of the dress and by Wednesday I should be gifting her this.
I know she will be super excited to receive this dress because for a fact I've known her to love simple yet beautiful dresses and for the record, Royal blue is her favourite colour so I think it's just a perfect gift to say thank you for all the sacrifice and unconditional love she has shown me for the last years in my fashion journey.
