Foreword
Good day to all. How are all of you doing, October is here and we are moving towards the final quarter of 2024 and time to step up on the goals that I have initiated at the start of this year. Missed out on one update in September as I was away for a short vacation, so with the lost time due to me having a break, I will need to accelerate a little more in order to catch up on my goals.
2024 Goal
Before I proceed further, let's recap the savings goal I set for myself when the year started.
Power | Start | Goal | Now |
---|---|---|---|
Hive Power (HP) | 5000 | 9000 | 8501 HP |
In my August update, I reached 7663 HP. Today I have reached 8501 HP with a delta to main goal is 499 HP, with about 3 months to go based on main goal timeline and 2 months to go based on secondary goal timeline. To achieve my secondary goal, it will mean that I in the remaining slightly less than 2 months, I will need approximately 250 HP per month in order to reach my goal. Compared to previous where we need to push for 400 HP per month, it is a little less painful now but because of the lack of post in September, I cannot be lying on my laurels and expect things to happen.
Performance to Plan
To examine how much more I can boost, let's look at how much I can generate at this moment.
Layer 2 Token Management
It is important to review my sources of layer 2 tokens that increased my liquid Hive and SWAP.HIVE and started planning to get them into a better state for better passive drips.
Liquid Hive Sources:
Holding EDS tokens- The amount I have yields me 0.05 HIVE per week.
Holding DAB tokens - The amount I have yields me 0.008 HIVE per day.
Holding SIM tokens - The amount I have yields me 0.032 HIVE per day.
Holding BRO tokens - The amount I have yields me 0.007 HIVE per week.
This totals up to 0.335 HIVE per week an increase of 0.026 HIVE per week as compared to last month. Previously this figure, grew in small amount monthly but this time round saw a drop coming mainly from the EDS and DAB pool.
SWAP.HIVE Sources:
Staking DRIP tokens - The amount I've stake yields me 0.0018 SWAP.HIVE per day.
Holding BBH tokens - The amount I have yields me 0.004 SWAP.HIVE per week. (this payout somehow missed the last one, I will temporary not count this in the sum)
This totals up to 0.0126 SWAP.HIVE per week. It is not a big amount compared to liquid Hive portion and it will significantly be lower without the BBH payouts. Hopefully it will come back soon.
The key growth in passive mainly coming my focus in dCity and building up the SIM tokens for more daily liquid hive income. For the other tokens that drop sufficient passives, I will look at repurposing some of the other layer 2 tokens to boost up the numbers to further build up the passive. Some of the key passive tokens that I will want to further build up will be BRO and EDS. Another one that I am currently monitoring will be LGN.
Curation and Writing
The short break did slow down my HP gathering process in September and I will have a big catching up that needs to be done. Hopefully in the month of October, I can get back on track and inch closer towards the goal.

Rollercoin Link
As a side booster for last minute injection, I am now playing and building up my Rollercoin account to gather both RLT (Rollercoin in game token) and also LTC. RLT will help build up my mining room to build up LTC which will be a good emergency standby to aid me getting my goal should I just need a little bit more to hit my goal.
Closing
Last bit of effort is needed to ensure I do not deviate from the initial goal that I have set to achieve. Growing in Hive does not stop at just end of 2024 but goes a long way. And this is why, building up the passives and continue interacting and growing in the various Hive communities is important. Let's all continue to grow and make Hive an amazing place to be.
See you next time!
Saturday Savers Club
What is Saturday Savers Club?
The Club is a supportive group of people who meet up around the weekly post, usually on a Saturday but occasionally on a Sunday, to share tips and techniques and have some fun in the process. Saving is a skill that takes time and practice to acquire and, like learning any skill, doesn't always go the way you planned.
