It was really, really hard until I did it!

Namaste!

Today I have chosen Ecency Community to spread the colors of my photography because this community welcomes everyone with almost no restrictions!

Today, I want to share a short but wonderful story with you. It was the beginning of last summer, and I would sometimes try to cross the park along the newly built sidewalk along the road while my evening walk. This footpath was built over a deep gutter, and its work was still unfinished, although it had been a year since I saw it in this condition, but this is how government work is done here.

You can see the picture of the sidewalk below.

On its left side after the railing, there is another green belt then there is a road and on its right side, there is a park.

By looking at the picture shown below, you will understand that on this path, approximately every 100 feet, there are main holes covered by concrete pallets with iron hooks fitted in them.

But there are some main holes here which have not been covered. Now don't ask me the reason for this, because here the contractors are always ready to dig but unless some accidents happen at that place, the digging is not repaired and made normal for the common people again.

But anyway, today I have not come here with complaints against my government but with a small and inspiring story.

Actually, often during my evening walk, I used to walk on this footpath instead of walking through the park. After walking about halfway on this, when the first main hole came, I stop because the length of this hole was a little more than 2 times my usual walking steps. I know its very small but still It scared me because Firstly, it was a solid concrete structure, also it was about 10 feet deep, and on top of that, the water from the recent rains was rotting in it. These were all the reasons, why I was always scared to cross it and would prefer to take a complete U-turn from there and then start walking again on the roadside.

Going on that path like this again and again and then returning from there after looking at the main hole in fear was repeated about 5 to 8 times. Then recently one evening I walked on that path again, took a deep breath then after reaching near that hole I slowly placed one step on that narrow sidewall and while looking ahead I crossed it in one go in the second step.

Believe me, my legs were trembling even while doing this, but once I did it, my happiness and confidence has no bounds. And even now I go on that path sometimes and easily cross that hole in 2 steps without stopping.

Whether you focus on the level of difficulty of this story or my reaction, I leave it to you to decide what you Understand/Learn from this.

But one thing I can say with conviction is that even if you don't comment, if the level of difficulty of my story comes to your mind, then believe me, you need to work a lot on yourself.

I hope you liked my Story and Phone Photography!🙏🏼

What a noob 😜

I used to go to the school by crossing a river and walking 5 kilometers barefoot in monsoon season...oh wait! That is my grandfather's story and likely everyone's grandfather in India🙃

Bhai, aap alag hi disha mein le gaye ise😅😅 Waise ye us grandparents story ki tulna mein kaaaafi chhoti baat hai. Kahan wo lakdi ki chappal pahankar kilometers chalkar aur nadi paar karke school jana aur kahan ye shaam ki matar-gasti ke liye gutter taapna.😂😂😂

That's a huge manhole! 😳 It really isn't safe to have an evening walk there particularly if you're new to the place. Maybe a huge notice on a big lighted board will be nice and they're not going to be blamed when something bad happens! Without this uncovered manhole which poses danger, I must say it's a nice and peaceful path to do your walking exercises. Be safe.

It wasn't about the level of difficulty of my challenge, it was about how I overcame it.
It is not my favorite walkway either but it happens sometimes when you look at something as a challenge/fear and after overcoming it, you feel a different level of happiness and confidence. It's About That Feeling! :)

Thank you bhai!😊🙏🏼

Everyone has unique struggle, brother. For me, crossing it would be an easy task because I am habituated facing similar main holes everyday during my college life.

Anyway, thanks for sharing your experiences. It's good to see that you finally won over your fears.

That's all what matters! Giving up without trying would have been wrong. I tried and I was able to overcome my fear and then when I looked back, I felt it wasn't that difficult. :)

What a beautiful place to walk, what a shame they haven't finished it, and they have left it so dangerous for people who walk

It's good that you have overcome your phobia and now you can cross it in two steps, I hope the municipality finishes the construction soon @untilwelearn

We hope the same. :) Thank you for this lovely comment!🙏🏼
