In this post I will share my experience and my success in finding a very unique insect, namely a gold dust beetle. From its shape alone we already know that this is a snout beetle that we often find on leaves or in bushes, I have found this insect several times but this time the discovery is different, not the shape and not the size but the color.
This insect belongs to the Curculionidae family, although its shape and color are very attractive, this insect is also often considered a pest by farmers because of its nature which can damage plants and leaves, for more detailed information you can also see it here
I managed to find this beetle when I was in a palm oil plantation, this beetle managed to attract my attention because of its very elegant color, namely golden yellow, I tried to photograph this beetle using a macro lens and the results were so amazing, on the back of this beetle we can see golden yellow dust.
This is a flying insect and while I was photographing it, this insect also flew to another tree branch but luckily this insect didn't fly too far and not too fast so I didn't lose it.I tried to photograph this insect from different angles, and I succeeded in doing so.
This is an insect with a small size, so if we want to see its beauty then we have to see it from a fairly close distance, therefore photographing this insect using a macro lens is the right choice.
