Finally I could be back to share macro insect shots after I managed to go out and take some macro photos in the wild. I was at the rice field to do some work, and then I also forced my self to bring the camera and then to take much needed macro photos.
This time I bring this Laccoptera tredecimpunctata or the tortoise beetle. Laccoptera tredecimpunctata is a golden brown beetle measuring 6-8 mm with 11 black spots on the elytra and 2 smaller black spots on prothorax. . Which means that this little guy is just one of the many species of tortuise beetle out there, and I am happy that I could get the photos of this beetle.
But unfortunately, just like most of the tortuise beetle, they are considered as pest to the farmer, because they will eat the leaf they are perching on, and make holes in the leaves. Which in the end could affect the harvest that the farmer might have in the future.
