I don't know if it's common there, but here in Brazil, some people have the custom of jumping seven waves to wish themselves luck in life.

Literally, people jump over the waves. But I wasn't specific enough for you to understand better. The waves are those really small ones that are already smaller at the edge of the sea.
Cool! What a fun tradition. We have the polar bear swim, but that involves subzero temperatures.
This must be really fun, but it's definitely hard to face such low temperatures hahaha...
The highest I've seen here was 4 degrees Celsius and it was very cold.
