Algunos trabajos son esenciales en días festivos. ¿Alguna vez has tenido que trabajar en días festivos?
Elegí esta pregunta porque aún no decoro en casa. He estado buscando esferas pequeñas de Navidad para el árbol (y que tengan buen precio; todo en diciembre es más costoso). Compré un pequeño árbol hace dos años, y no soporta mucho peso.
Pero no he encontrado las esferas perfectas para él; creo que será suficiente con un paquete pequeño; espero conseguirlas pronto.
Por ello me voy por los trabajos en Navidad. En ello sí tengo una experiencia comprobada.
Así que, en cuanto a la primera pregunta, sí he trabajado en Navidad, hace dos años (qué curioso, la cantidad de años que tiene mi arbolito). Y no fue nada agradable; llegué muy cansada a casa, de forma que no pude disfrutar por ello.
Lo que menos me gustó de ello es que en la tienda donde trabajaba como administrador no hubo ventas. Así que estuvimos trabajando hasta muy tarde para nada.
Todos nos veíamos las caras, estabamos cansados porque el día anterior había sido torturador. Además de que esas dos últimas semanas trabajamos seguido sin días de descanso. Te podrás imaginar la cara de pocos amigos que puede tener alguien por ello.
Aunque esto puede ser lo de menos cuando tienes familia y eres unida a ella.
Al llegar a casa, ya mamá y mi hermana tenían todo listo. No está mal, eso podemos pensar, pero para mí era muy triste. Siempre ayudo en casa, formo parte de la cena navideña, y eso es algo que me llena el corazón.
En esa Navidad en particular me sentía mal por ello. Me hizo pensar y replantearme muchas cosas de mi vida.
- Una de ellas fue que me prometí nunca más trabajar en estas fechas fuera de casa.
Quiero compartir con mi familia, y no voy a permitir que esos hermosos momentos me pasen por encima por el resto de mi vida solo porque debo cumplir un horario.
Por ello empecé a trabajar desde casa. No es sencillo, porque aquí nadie me dice qué hacer; yo soy la que dice y decide qué hacer. Sin embargo, no me quejo de ello; agradezco y me siento feliz por tener esta oportunidad.
- También me hizo pensar en que nadie debería trabajar en Navidad; es algo que debería ser considerado una práctica en contra de la familia.
Claro está, no digo que no se trabaje en todo el año, ni nada por el estilo. Sino que las familias sean una prioridad en esta fecha.
Lo cual sé que es una idea un poco extraña. ¿Cerrar todos los lugares el 24 y 25 de diciembre? ¿Estás loca?
Las personas tendrían que hacer todas sus compras con anticipación, y todos estarían en casa compartiendo con sus familias.
No creo que las empresas pierdan dinero por ello, porque el 23 de diciembre sería equivalente a un 24 de diciembre. Las personas estarían enloquecidas por comprar todo, pero podrían disfrutar con sus familias. Así que creo que sería lo justo, y lo mejor para todos sin afectar a nadie.
Pero también sé que quizás sea solo un sueño de mi parte. Es por ello que, aunque así lo sea, haré que ese sueño sea real en mi propia vida.
- Y la última de mi lista es no volver a hacer algo que no quiero.
Te voy a ser sincera, me gustaba mi trabajo. Aprendí muchas cosas respecto a inventario que han sido útiles para mi negocio online.
Sin embargo, las condiciones no eran las mejores. Así que si dieran para elegir esa opción o mi vida actual, sin duda elegiría mi vida actual.
No gano mucho, esa es la verdad. Y lo que gano lo uso para los gastos de la casa e invertir en mi negocio online.
Esto ha sido clave para mi supervivencia en el país, cosa que no es sencilla. También ha sido de suma importancia para los proyectos que estoy construyendo de cero, porque la verdad antes lo veía muy lejano, y ahora siento que solo debía dar pequeños pasos, y con ello ya estaría haciendo algo.
Así que, como verás, soy #TeamEmprendedor. A pesar de ello, no soy como los que molestan con que todos deben tener un negocio; por el contrario, creo que cada persona debe seguir su camino. Ese camino que tanto anhela su corazón.
Y este es el mío.

Some jobs are essential on holidays. Have you ever had to work on holidays?I chose this question because I haven't decorated my house yet. I've been looking for small Christmas ornaments for the tree (and at a good price; everything is more expensive in December). I bought a small tree two years ago, and it can't hold much weight.
But I haven't found the perfect ornaments for it; I think a small pack will be enough; I hope to get them soon.
That's why I'm going to ask about jobs at Christmas. I do have proven experience with that.
So, regarding the first question, yes, I have worked at Christmas, two years ago (how funny, how old my little tree is!). And it wasn't pleasant at all; I got home very tired, so I couldn't enjoy it.
What I liked least about it was that there were no sales at the store where I worked as a manager. So we were working until very late for nothing.
We all looked at each other, exhausted because the previous day had been torture. Plus, we'd worked nonstop for the last two weeks without a single day off. You can imagine the grumpy face someone might have because of that.
Although this might be the least of your worries when you have a family and are close to them.
When I got home, my mom and sister already had everything ready. That's not bad, we might think, but for me it was very sad. I always help around the house, I'm part of the Christmas dinner, and that's something that fills my heart.
That particular Christmas, I felt bad about it. It made me think and rethink many things in my life.
One of them was that I promised myself I would never work outside the home during the holidays again.
I want to spend time with my family, and I'm not going to let those beautiful moments pass me by for the rest of my life just because I have to keep to a schedule.
That's why I started working from home. It's not easy, because here nobody tells me what to do; I'm the one who says and decides what to do. However, I'm not complaining about it; I'm grateful and happy to have this opportunity.
- It also made me think that no one should work on Christmas; it's something that should be considered a practice against family.
Of course, I'm not saying that no one should work all year round, or anything like that. I'm saying that families should be a priority at this time.
Which I know is a somewhat strange idea. Close all the shops on December 24th and 25th? Are you crazy?
People would have to do all their shopping in advance, and everyone would be at home spending time with their families.
I don't think businesses would lose money because of it, because December 23rd would be equivalent to December 24th. People would be frantically buying everything, but they could enjoy time with their families. So I think it would be fair, and the best thing for everyone without affecting anyone.
But I also know that maybe it's just a dream on my part. That's why, even if it is, I'm going to make that dream a reality in my own life.
And the last thing on my list is to never do something I don't want to do again.
I'll be honest, I liked my job. I learned a lot about inventory that has been useful for my online business.
However, the conditions weren't the best. So, if I had to choose between that option and my current life, I would definitely choose my current life.
I don't earn much, that's the truth. And what I do earn I use for household expenses and to invest in my online business.
This has been key to my survival in the country, which isn't easy. It has also been extremely important for the projects I'm building from scratch, because honestly, before I saw it as very distant, and now I feel like I just had to take small steps, and with that, I'd already be doing something.
So, as you can see, I'm #TeamEntrepreneur. Despite this, I'm not like those who insist everyone should own a business; on the contrary, I believe each person should follow their own path. That path their heart longs for.
And this is mine.
