2️⃣ What is your favorite thing to enjoy during the holiday season, and why?
It's festive season and we all look forward to celebrations with family and friends. A lot of us are privileged to do that, but not everyone is privileged. There are many, who, because of their circumstances may not be able to celebrate. There are many who have no family to be with. During such times we realize the importance of family and friends in our life. And there are people who not with choice, but without any choice spend their time in loneliness.
I would like to visit a old age home or a children's home where they have no one of their own with who they can celebrate. Along with giving my time, I will like to do celebrations for them with goodies and food. I can have a nice fun evening arranged for them, with food of their choice, which they would relish and it will make them feel like they are celebrating a festival and it's just not a normal dinner or lunch for them. I would host some entertainment for them, like music, dance, games which will give them fun and lighten up their hearts and not make them feel lonely. This is the best gift I can give to them is what I believe. They should feel the joy and spirit of the festive season.
During the festive season my favorite thing to do is follow the rituals of that festival. Like during Diwali and Ganesh Chaturthi which are the important ones for me I will like to decorate my home with lights, do rangoli, make some savories and distribute it to friends and family, visit the temple, then have family and friends come over home and celebrate it together. There is no more pleasure then being with our loved ones and my holiday season is all about that. Though I love travelling, but during festive season I do not like to go for a holiday. I like to be at home with my loved ones and spend time in festivities. This is what I enjoy the most. When my son was schooling, holiday season was the only time when we would get to go travelling for holidays and a piece of my heart would always stay behind at home missing the festivities.
My favorite thing is be home, be part of the festivities, follow the rituals and spend time with my loved ones.
