Happy new week to you all. I hope you’re doing well and staying positive. This week’s contest is truly heart-touching, and I’m excited to participate in the first part. It focuses on admiring a certain trait, embracing it, and how we were able to navigate through the journey.
For me, my journey into the online space started when I came across an online entrepreneur. I admired him so much because he was passionate about teaching people how to earn income online.
What inspired me the most was how he encouraged others to learn a digital skill that could help them make money online, sometimes even more than what a regular salary could offer.
At that time, I was only earning a salary from my job.

Here’s a deeper look into how I got started with the online space and how the journey has been so far:
How I Discovered the Online Space
Let me start by saying this:
When you strongly desire something and keep thinking about it, the opportunity usually shows up.
One day, I was scrolling through Facebook when I came across an ad. The ad was about a free class that promised to teach people how to make extra income online. As a mum with two kids, I was eager to add more income to support my family, so I quickly showed interest.
That’s how I came across Mr. Kemzy’s ad.
I joined the class, and he introduced us to content writing. Since I was new to the system, it wasn’t easy getting my first gig. But I didn’t give up, I kept putting in the work and learning until I started getting better at it.
How the Journey Went
Mr. Kemzy gave us several training videos to watch online. I remember watching them every night after work. Many times, I would fall asleep while watching the videos. I even cracked my phone screen twice because I slept on it!
After spending too much money fixing my phone, I decided to create a better plan. Instead of watching the videos at night, I gave myself one hour during the day to learn. This helped a lot.
I improved in content writing, but I wasn’t getting many jobs yet. So, I decided to try Twitter to explore more opportunities.
One day, I came across a Hive project about a water pump. I clicked the link, and it led me to Hive. I started researching more about Hive, but I got stuck because I didn’t have anyone to guide me.
Later on, while on a bus, I overheard someone talking about Hive. I spoke with him, and he explained some things to me. Unfortunately, I lost his contact and couldn’t reach out again.
But I didn’t give up. I kept researching until I finally found my way to the platform. From there, I began using my writing skills again, because writing is what I truly love.
Learning Graphics Design
After that, I decided to learn graphic design using Canva.
If you’re just starting and want something simple and beginner-friendly, Canva is a great option. It’s not complex, and you can create amazing designs easily with already-made templates.
Challenges with Screen Time
As I continued my online journey, I got more used to spending long hours in front of screens. Over time, this began to affect my eyes. So, I decided to get a pair of glasses to help reduce the strain.
My journey in the online space hasn’t been easy.
Starting as a beginner was tough. It took lots of training, time, and commitment. But I’m proud of how far I’ve come.
To anyone starting out, just keep going. Learn one step at a time. It might not be easy, but with patience and effort, it will pay off.
