Trauma code: Heroes on call (movie review)

Hello everyone, pleasant greetings to you all.

This is going to be my first time posting here in the #koreanhivevilage but I am so glad that I will be participating in the community contest.

When I say that k-dramas and movies are simply loveable, I'm sure that I won't be the only one to think so. Korean movies are captivating and engaging. Sometimes, they might start out slow and we might get confused for a while, but just stay with it and after two or more episodes, you would have picked up on the plot.

For me, asides the picture quality of their movies, beautiful sceneries, one other thing that makes me keep watching Korean films is their language. There's just something about that language. I feel it carries too much passion. There was a time I could speak a lot of Korean phrases due to watching a lot of their drama series but now, I'm too busy learning crypto and the Korean language has taken a back seat.

The Korean drama series I will be reviewing is titled The trauma code: Heroes on call. If you have not watched this movie, then you need to do so like yesterday.

This is one heart warming yet wrenching, emotional series. If you love to help people, save lives if you just love anything medically related, then this is a good movie for you.

Synopsis

The movie follows the lives and daily activities of a university hospital trauma rescue team. The movie navigates their struggles in keeping up with the huge amount of emergency cases until the arrival of a saviour named Bark Khang-hyuk (This is another reason I like watching k-dramas. The names are interesting).

Bark Khang-hyuk is a seasoned and brilliant trauma surgeon who honed his skills on the battlefield. His coming was a blessing for the trauma team and with his exceptional confidence, he was able to navigate the trauma team to becoming a leading trauma unit.

My review

Oh my, what can I say. This drama was packed from start to finish. So far since it's release in January 2025, I have only watched six episodes but those six episodes were screaming no dull moment.

As a lover of anything medical, I was fascinated by Bark Khang-hyuk's bravery in handling serious medical cases. He doesn’t follow protocol all the time nor does he believe in failure or letting a patient die. He does all he can for his patients and he still checks up on them later after their surgery.

I also like how he took up the role of a mentor and began mentoring a young outstanding doctor nicknamed anus. Through his patience and guidance, doctor anus moved from being a low confident person to a brave medical practitioner.

I also liked how Bark Khang-hyuk was able to navigate the envy and strife that erupted due to his arrival as his arrival shook the hornet's nest, exposing the nonchalant attitudes of other team mates. He was able to establish himself and show them the right way to really be a doctor. Plus his humility is also touching. You'd never know that he was so capable until you see him in action inside a theatre.

In summary, this is a great movie to watch with friends and family. Those doctors and nurses were truly heroes worth celebrating. I don't know if it has a season two but for now, this was all seasons one gave to us and frankly, it was really good.

I'm rating the series a 9.5/10. The acting was perfect. Emotion delivery was top-notch. A very lovely series indeed.

I'm inviting k-drama movie lovers like me. @rukkie, @ozd and @jmis101. Come and review a movie ASAP 😁.

A mi me encanto esta serie, los asiaticos tienen ese no se que que me encanta, es como un falta de expresividad que los hace ver tan lindos. La serie fue atípica, una trama diferente, sin embargo excelente liderazgo.

Te dejo un abrazo grandototote

I loved this series, Asian people have that certain something that I love, it's like a lack of expressiveness that makes them look so cute. The series was atypical, a different plot, however excellent leadership.

I leave you a big hug
