The movie started with Charles proposing to Helen the lead character in the movie who is Uche Montana, the one bleeding from a wound she didn't cause her. Her mother walked out of her marriage, leaving her only girl child at 12 because her husband's wealth was gone as a result of wrong business doing. This made Helen's aunty from her father's side hate her with passion and it also extended to her male and female cousins so she doesn't milk the boys dry and have a negative influence on the girls respectively.
This had a negative influence on her marriage with Charles a guy who she had one night stand with, under the influence of alcohol and it resulted to unwanted pregnancy for the both. She tried to be her own woman providing what so ever she needed, working and making her own money. Even though the husband tried to spoil her silly with gifts at every slightest opportunity. Letting her know that he has a enough gold she should dig, it was unfortunate that that they lived in the house as husband and wife for years he doesn't have the wife's account number. When she wants to shop that's if she wants to spend his money, sticking strictly to the amount they agreed on spending is what she will do and bring home every single receipt.
It was on bearable for the husband as she continued just that way, that action caused a lot of challenges in her marriage that the little opportunity the husband had to talk to someone it was the lady he left to marry her Laura, who he happened to be in business partnership with the Dad. The moment for them ended in an awkward way leading to her wife wanting a divorce. "This is just an eight month old marriage and therefore divorce can't happen", says the arbitrator. "You both need to see a marriage counselor and after two years it didn't work you can come for the divorce proper." She continued.
A mother, who always want the going to be smooth for her came back looking for her daughter to maybe to walk her way into her daughter's life because she's married to wealthy man. I wouldn't be surprised because some happening can make one be hardened in heart.
REVIEW
There's a saying that snake must birth something long, but it's the opposite in this movie. Helen was nothing close to her mother in digging gold, Smile. Because of what her father inculcated in her. "If you must spend, it should be the money you make, not the one i give you."
She didn't want help in running her business, she wanted to do it single handedly without her husband and this caused a challenge that shouldn't be in her marriage.
