Repetition
Repetitive is something that is repeated over and over again, or that is full of repetitions. It can be used to refer to an action, a sound, a pattern or even a type of text or language that can become tedious or boring due to a lack of variety.
In photography, on the other hand, repetition is the compositional technique of incorporating recurring elements, patterns or themes to create a sense of rhythm, balance and visual harmony in an image, using lines, shapes, colors, textures or other visual components to achieve a consistent and uniform look.
This pair of photos taken last year during the celebration of Holy Week, corresponds to the Basilica of the Holy Christ of Grace, a Catholic temple located in the central area of my city, and where it is possible to observe the structural elements that support the vaulted ceiling of the building, which in my opinion provides a visual sensation of homogeneity in visitors.
As I have described in previous publications, I used the editing tools offered by Picsart and Snapseed applications to intervene the original image to my satisfaction.
Lo repetitivo es algo se repite una y otra vez, o que se encuentra lleno de repeticiones. Puede emplearse para referirnos a una acción, un sonido, un patrón o incluso un tipo de texto o lenguaje que puede llegar a convertirse en algo tedioso o aburrido por la falta de variedad.
Por otra parte, en la fotografía, la repetición es la técnica compositiva de incorporar elementos, patrones o temas recurrentes para crear una sensación de ritmo, equilibrio y armonía visual en una imagen, empleando líneas, formas, colores, texturas u otros componentes visuales para lograr un aspecto coherente y uniforme.
Este par de fotos tomadas el año pasado durante la celebración de la Semana Santa, corresponde a la Basílica del Santo Cristo de la Gracia, un templo católico ubicado en el casco central de mi ciudad, y donde es posible observar los elementos estructurales que soportan el techo abovedado de la edificación, lo cual a mi juicio proporciona una sensación visual de homogeneidad en los visitantes.
Tal como lo he descrito en publicaciones anteriores, usé las herramientas de edición que ofrecen las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed para intervenir las imágenes originales a mi entera satisfacción.
