Mallard in the Pond 🦆

Hello fellow bird lovers. Today I want to share images of this little friend that came to me in the park, I have always found these ducks very beautiful, here in Europe they are very common but in my country Venezuela, I think I never saw them, at least not that I remember.

Something curious I heard about this little animal, which by the way its common name is mallard duck, in a National Geographic documentary, is that they can sleep with one eye open, and this because they sleep with one side of the brain while the other is awake! Crazy right?

Imagine if we could do the same? I think we would get rid of many traffic accidents! 😄

This little guy approached me with curiosity, at first I thought he was going to attack me, I have already been attacked by other ducks, 🤣 but this one, I think he was waiting for me to give him food, although it is forbidden to feed them I have seen people throwing food into the pond.

When he realized he wasn't going to get any food from me, he made a face at me and went off to swim with his buddies! 😆

Usually they are always in this pond in the park, these days the water has been very dirty, but I have seen that in other places they are already doing maintenance to the fountains and ponds, I hope to have better pictures of this pond in a next opportunity.

Aww what a beautiful GIF, thanks for the support folks!❤️

Mallard ducks although I have never seen them in real life, did have table mats with them being so colourful. How fortunate you are to have them swimming around entertaining you when out on your walks.

Hi Joan. I have read that they have been introduced in South America from Europe, they are very adaptable, maybe in South Africa they are also adaptable. It is strange that they are not yet common there.
I hope you get to see them soon, they are very cute.
Have a great start of the week! 🌹

We have some pretty ducks on the water here, never heard of Mallard's being introduced into the country.

Sometimes you want to break away from the bustle of the city and immerse yourself in the nature at least a little. It's good that there is a place in the city where ducks live that are not afraid of people.

It is a privilege to have this park nearby, it is a great escape on those stressful days, the ducklings also help us relax just by watching them.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Have a great day! ✨

What lovely ducks ... such sharp colors in contrast with the muted shades of the pond!

Their colors are the most striking thing about the pond! They are simply beautiful.😍

Amazing
