Spotted on the Wire

Hello Hivers!
Today I want to share some photos of a beautiful bird I spotted perched on a electric wire right outside our neighborhood. This dark, glossy bird with a striking red eye caught my attention as it sat quietly against the bright blue morning sky. It appears to be a Asian Glossy Starling, a common but truly beautiful bird here in the Philippines. I was lucky enough to get a few close shots of it before it flew away.

As I kept watching, the bird moved around the wires and I noticed a smaller bird nearby as well. I tried to capture both of them through the tangle of electric cables above. The deep blue sky made a perfect natural backdrop, and even though the birds were far up, the camera managed to catch them beautifully silhouetted against the sky.

Here are more shots of the glossy starling as it stayed perched on the wire near the old wooden electric post. The iridescent green shimmer on its feathers and that tiny red eye are what make this bird so special and easy to recognize. I kept shooting from different angles trying to get the best frame possible.

In these final shots you can see both a small sparrow-like bird and the glossy starling taking turns on the wire. The last few photos show the bird leaning forward curiously, almost as if posing for the camera. It was a simple but memorable moment of spotting urban wildlife right in the middle of our busy city streets.

This was taken by my phone camera by me @dondononardem and edited in Adobe Lightroom.
