Leap Of Faith

Shield Restricting Negativity

When young it was normal to be raised in a religious faith, most attended Sunday school from baptism to about sixteen, confirmation in many religions a step taken toward adulthood. Living in a home where my Mother never attended anything beyond christenings, marriage, very few funerals with good reason, nothing was forced. My Dad was regular in attendance, devout yet always seeing reason from both sides, always guiding never pushing any agenda.

Faith in religion lost it's appeal early in my early twenties, realization of many religions, one thing I could never find was any where completely right, none completely wrong it depended on the region and circumstance you were born into. Hence I followed more open view accepting all, there is a higher power simply looking at nature, finding my solace there.

My logical side is ultimately constructed on faith, when trying to understand or analyze human society I see little logic in how we behave toward each other, yet all rely on faith in some form or another.

Over the years, friends of Black, White, Coloured, Indian, Asian, taking me into synagogue, mosque, temple, cathedral, orthodox or other churches, many find a link to their ancestors through prayer, who am I to judge when different tribes are distributed throughout our world.

This week we voted in good faith, one never knows what will happen, it stands to reason to wait, watch how society reacts, Reasoning it should be better is not the same as knowing, faith comes after reason, although we do things in the faith allowing us to grow together as a nation for good reason.

Nature is my shield restricting negativity daily, birds make me smile, often carry deeper meaning. It has been a bird of any species visit me after loss of close family or friends.

Our ultimate end, goal or purpose of life we travel the path daily in faith, leaving home that we will return safely. Plants grow through seasons, as do humans, plants do it more logically than we do, we forever swayed this way or that considering life and it's meaning, faith is one day we might understand, alas I don't think I ever will!

Nature inspires me daily of what tomorrow might bring, science is factually based so they say, for me this is a confusing prospect after the past few years where recognized scientists are ignored!

Daily one clings to many things we cannot see nor understand, we carry on in faith within our own reasoning of right or wrong. None of us are born with logic or reasoning yet we feel faith toward a greater being, never fully understanding life itself.

No cop-out I believe we are one within all religions, why we constantly at war is conflicting. My soul is at peace watching nature in all it's grandeur, accepting one life will eat the next for survival, we are all selfish in protecting what we perceive in this moment in time. We need to think, find evidence, keep moving forward right to the end when we return to dust, or as I call it 'star dust'.

My answer to @ericvancewalton question - Faith? How would you describe your faith journey?

It's so true that faith can take many forms and isn't bound to one religion. I find solace in nature too, it's grounding and makes life's uncertainties more bearable. We all have our unique paths.

Never wish to walk in another mans shoes, we know not what the burden would be, faith comes in a variety of ways to interpret, so a higher being, nature places it into an easier way to understand, if that is possible.

You're absolutely right my good friend... Absolutely right 🥰

When I gave birth to my second child, there were loads of questions hovering over my mind. I even questioned God about his condition. I could not accept it for the first few months, but as time went by, I learned to embrace it and surrender all to God. My son's impairment taught me so many things that, at first, I never dreamed that we could survive it all. God's love always prevails. He gave me friends and individuals I didn't even know to help me out in our fight. That's when I learned that if you keep your faith, God will never leave you until the end. My kid passed away in November 2023 without prolonging his misery.

Sorry to hear of the young child passing, we know not the hour or days we have. We question often, seldom get answers, receive comfort in those around us who support on another.

Yes, and all we could do is surrender everything to him and move forward to another phase of our journey in life. Have a nice day to you.🌷

Each to their own 🤗

God bless.🌷🕊️

Excellent post, everyone is free to choose what to believe in. I also did not impose my daughters to profess a religion, they were free to believe or not. My greetings friend and I wish you a nice week.🤗🥰

As we age realization hits home how very different each of us are, many relate faith to religion, it may be great trust or confidence in someone or something.

Wishing you a wonderful month, thanks for visiting and leaving a comment.

I have discovered that religion is never man's problem rather man is the problem of religion. Every religion preaches love and brotherhood but would the human follow those teachings? No!

Kind, good, empathy, power to sustain and find positive purpose in life. What all should seek toward every living entity within our world.

I also have a lot of questions that remained unanswered. But my faith in him is one factor that keeps me going♥️.

Finding faith through religion is admirable, something many find peace and direction.

Nature was created by the highest Being and finding solace in Nature is also a form of connecting to the one who made them.
Religions remain pure but the people are stiff-necked.

Look to ocean, skies, everything in between, we are not important nor is anything we create, always good knowing there something far larger than us mere mortals.

My thoughts is that I feel spirituality is different from religion. Religion is a way. Faith in God for me is something beyond religion

Each individual will interpret faith in ways familiar to them, not something I think we can pin down firmly as other elements sneak in or feelings. Really the nature of the word that is, as broad, as deep, or wide, where it may take one.

Hello dear friend @joanstewart good afternoon
I love this Monday challenge, a great idea from our friend Erick
I appreciate you sharing your religious passage and life experience. I hope everyone has cast their votes with faith, and can change things in your beautiful country.

Words always echo when outdoors on clear nights "How Great Thou Art", we cannot place our head in the sand believing nothing exists, or we are all the same, the only ones either, life is a puzzle we never complete.

!LUV challenges that make you think!

Sunday School and Confirmation was a must back in the day.
I don't like the word religion, as it is divisive, been the cause of wars throughout the ages. To me it's about having faith in God, and living my life on those principles.
I also believe the little birds you see after the death of a loved one, are sent to let you know that they're OK, even though they're gone.
As for the elections and the divisions the political leaders cause, who knows what the future holds for us in SA, KZN especially is a big concern!
Enjoy your Sunday evening Joan

Uneasy quiet has descended on our province, wait and see over the next few weeks/months, prayer/faith in higher power that democracy holds firm.

Formative years grounding was firmly installed in homes, schools as to good/bad, right/wrong, growing up we make decisions rightfully/wrongfully each to their own.

Happy Month of June!

Democracy is what we want, and I just pray that there is no unrest, always politically instigated!
Weather's turning foul here, the Eastern Cape is badly affected.

Lot of lightning last night at midnight little to no rain, now the second round has started in a similar fashion. Perhaps Zeus, Thor or Baal are arguing upstairs, lot of furniture being moved around 🙃

Some horrific flash floods once again up the coastline, with lives lost and many evacuated.

You're welcome @joanstewart Hace a great week.

@joanstewart, you are most welcome!

Here is !ALIVE token gift for you

It seems this is the year for elections. I was surprised to read of the collapse of the ANC vote. I am with you, live and let live, as long as people don't force you into changing into their religion then everyone is fine with me.
Birds and nature, yeah my haven too, I am with you on that!
Happy June Joan!

ANC needed to be dislodged from total power, some surprises happened which will affect our province directly! Now a waiting game to see how the cards fall, if people will work together for a better tomorrow. South Africa really is the testing ground of new....

As long as a person gives of their best with pride I have faith people can overcome differences, absolutely no need to force another expecting them to kowtow to anyone.

Happy June All Month Long 🤗

However, being raised as a Catholic, I feel my own story in your text. Long story made short; the search for ‘the’ truth has not let go of me to this day.
In my twenties, I learnt about shamanism. Since then, I would best describe my faith as shamanistic. To me the fact that in Sanskrit, one origin of the word shaman, it also means seeker. Now with that i can definitely live...

Keep looking, short meditation trips into the garden do me fine, a walk brings comfort, sunsets and sunrises bring a feeling of awe, night skies makes one realize how small and insignificant we are.

Nature sneezes we all die, it's a big picture to comprehend in one lifetime, so history helps a little.

Sure will do... and talking to stones and trees, ants and snails... the ignorant call me crazy since i'm a child. Me, i'm like in Novalis quote:

“He who hears butterflies laugh knows what clouds taste of
He will discover the night in the moonlight, unhindered by fear.
He will become the plant, if he wishes, the animal, the fool, the sage
He will travel the universe within one hour.
He knows that he knows nothing, like all the others, too.
Only he knows, what he and all the others will have to learn
He who feels strange shores within himself and dares to rise
will slowly, unhindered by fear, discover himself
He looks up to his own summits
And calmly takes up the fight with his own underworld
He who’s at peace with himself will also die in peace
and will be more alive in death than all his heirs.”

Awesome words to carry in memory, we are one!

Your words about religion and faith resonate with me. Like you, I've been to different churches, temples, etc, and through the experiences, I've learned not to judge. Nature is truly a haven where we find peace and joy.

I have not been reading but I hope your election went well. Happy new month ❤️

Some good came of the election, not so good for our province, we will wait to see if change happens for all, it's been a long time coming since Madiba in 1994.

Between the illuminated roadside billboard that says Choose Life and has an image of an aborted fetus and the one that says Next Stop (all illuminated again) - Cupids Love Shack For All Your Sexy Toys, the new one says..

Jesus is the answer to ALL your problems.

Now to enjoy what time we have!

Crazy stuff eating away at soul and mind, the games people play...., before they have time to look back on it all, mirror mirror 😂

Lotta blame on one dude, I thought. Pretty sure some of those problems I brought on all by myself but who am I to judge..

I had the shovel and knew how to dig, say no more....
