Good day dear mates! Spring is going full steam ahead in my region!
And it means that gardening season is here! For me it promises to be active and intenceive especially considering that I have big plans for this year.
But to be honest I started to prepare earlier in March.
Planting seeds
Most important part of preparation in March for my famile was planting seeds in pots to make seedlings of tomatoes, peppers and flowers.
In this year me and my second half decided to plant not only usual tomatoes peppers and other vegetables but also some different varieties of flowers. At this time we bought seeds of cherry tomatoes, sweet red peppers, pumkin, cucumbers, flowers. Also I oredered roots of vinegrape of three diferent varieties and some other plants. By the way one variety of vinegrape will go as a present to my good friend when I'll go to visit him later. But let's return to seeds.
So when we took seeds we prepared soil and pots. After what we put seeds in the soil and covered it to prevent it from drying out.
And after couple weeks we saw how first sproots appeared from soil.
And now after almost 4 weeks later we had good strong sproots in our pots . As you can see all of them enjoying warn cozy sun rays on my balcony.
By the way on picture bellow you can see how strong and good enough feels strawberry feedlings in pots. So all of us waiting good harvest in summer.
But step by step we need to move forward. And here I suggest to go to my outdoor garden.
Spring garden
Here in garden it was waitning a lot of work after this strang winter in my garden. First of all I was need to clean it from fallen leaves, cut back any remaining overgrowth on trees and damaged branches on shrubs.
I also cut out those raspberry bushes that were damaged by pests so that they would not spoil the harvest this year. Also in March, given that the weather was quite warm and windless, I decided to treat the garden from bacteria and pests with a special solution. In addition, given the abnormally warm weather in my region earlier than usual woke up plants and in the last decade of March even began to bloom buds on currant bushes and honeysuckle. And here on the branches of cherry even swelled flower buds. And I am very afraid that the return frosts may damage the plants and affect our harvest. Some macro photos bellow.
Flowers after winter
And now some words diserves to say about flowers in my garden.
At the beginning of this part I'd like to write about crocuses which already appeared and ready to bloom.
Tulips in my garden appeared from the soil too. And it's also promises to ba a lot of tulips in this April.
Roses at this time seems were damaged a little bit due frosts in February and snowless winter. But I hope that after cutting off damaged branches and feeding them with fertilizer, they will feel much better afterwards.
Final foughts
As a conclusion I'd like to say that I understand that it's a lot of work should be done in my garden in April before starting to reconstraction of my garden house. But I hope I'll have enough time and possibilities to do all my best!
That's all for now. Stay tuned! Yours @travoved
