Communication with Managers.

I guess there are many situations when you want to communicate some things but in the end, either you are not able to communicate it properly, or in some cases, the message that got communicated did not deliver the message that is intended to be delivered before the start of the communication. In case when we talk to the people in the management who are higher in the chain, it also becomes difficult to get the time and opportunity to communicate again so there is very little opportunity to communicate again to convey the correct message.

I guess, to avoid the situation that only includes undercommunicating, overcommunicating, or communicating unclear or confusing information.

Below are a few points that can be considered for communicating.

1. Be Prepared.

It is better to practice before that what we want to communicate. so that we do not sound weak, stammer or constructing our ideas in the real time. It is better we have constructed our core idea into clear sentences, so that we can speak confidently. It is also better to prepare for the counter-questioning beforehand and also have the answered prepared for them.

2. Right time, Right Place.

It is very important to communicate when the time is right. If there are so many things going on that already occupied someone's attention or something going on top priority that it does not look like to communicate or pitch your idea on another subjects because other persons is already preoccupied.

It is important to communicate at right place, some communication requires privacy and confidentiality. So it is very important that communication that require formal environment should not be done on informal setting or environment.

Listen and take feedback.

It is not necessary, even with your preparedness and factual correctness that listener will agree with you. So in this situation it is very important that you do not lose your cool, do not argue, instead listen carefully and take feedback from it so that you can initiate another communication later on with more preparedness and with more fact.

It is always necessary to respect the boundaries, irrespective of the result of the communication.

Sort:

I think it's easy to have miscommunication. It can get quite frustrating if it isn't your fault though. I agree that getting mad won't help, and you just got to do the best you can do with the situation you have.

Arguing will only make matter worse even when you are right.
