I was out for a walk when I came across this wildflower bush growing straight out of the rocks. It wasn’t in a garden or near any trail...just tucked into a crack in the hillside, like it had chosen that hard spot on purpose. One bright yellow flower had already opened, while the rest were still tightly shut, waiting.
मैं टहलने निकला था कि अचानक मेरी नज़र चट्टानों से सीधे उगते हुए एक जंगली फूलों की झाड़ी पर पड़ी। यह किसी बगीचे में या किसी पगडंडी के पास नहीं थी... बस पहाड़ी की एक दरार में छिपी हुई थी, मानो उसने जानबूझकर वह सख्त जगह चुनी हो। एक चटख पीला फूल पहले ही खिल चुका था, जबकि बाकी अभी भी कसकर बंद थे, इंतज़ार कर रहे थे।
And then there was the flower—just one open bloom, bright yellow with a bunch of delicate, thin filaments reaching out from the center like golden threads. It didn’t look fragile.
और फिर फूल था—बस एक खिली हुई, चटख पीले रंग की, जिसके बीच से सुनहरे धागों की तरह फैले हुए नाज़ुक, पतले रेशों का एक गुच्छा। वह नाज़ुक नहीं लग रहा था।
The rocks around it were sharp and dry but in the middle of all that dryness, this bush had found a way to live. Its leaves were slender and pointed, a soft green with hints of red at the tips.
इसके आस-पास की चट्टानें नुकीली और सूखी थीं, लेकिन उस सूखेपन के बीच भी, इस झाड़ी ने जीने का रास्ता खोज लिया था। इसके पत्ते पतले और नुकीले थे, हल्के हरे रंग के, जिनके सिरे पर लाल रंग के निशान थे।
It had no perfect soil, no shelter, nothing easy and still it was blooming.
इसके पास न तो कोई उत्तम मिट्टी थी, न कोई आश्रय था, न ही कुछ भी आसान था और फिर भी यह खिल रहा था।
I walked around it a little, taking photos from different angles. The flower changed depending on how the light hit it. This last one is in black and white and it looks sort of timeless.
मैं उसके चारों ओर थोड़ा घूमा और अलग-अलग कोणों से तस्वीरें लीं। रोशनी पड़ने पर फूल बदलता रहा। आखिरी तस्वीर काले और सफ़ेद रंग की है और यह एक तरह से कालातीत लग रही है।
