Genus Graptomyza

in Nature Observer8 days ago

On a wet morning when the dew was still faithfully sitting sweetly on the flower petals, I found a beautiful fly having breakfast. According to inaturalist, this fly belongs to the genus graptomyza, which is a genus of hoverflies and comes from the Syrphidae family. This fly is very small in size, almost invisible.

Even though at that time I had been near this flower plant for a long time, this fly was not visible. Because of its small size. At the last second when I wanted to move to another place, I just saw this fly, almost missing this extraordinary moment.

Judging from its color, this fly is one of the lucky insects. The color pattern it has is almost the same as the color of a wasp or bee. Golden yellow combined with jet black. A perfect camouflage cloak, I am sure that when predators see this fly they will definitely not consider this fly as a fragile creature.

In addition, this fly is also a strong insect. When I found this, the sun had started to shine, but the air was still very cold. At that time, no other insects had visited the flower garden, but this fly had already started eating breakfast. He was great, working while the others were still in bed.

I was mesmerized by this beautiful insect. It was captured on camera in a very beautiful way.

The first time I saw it I felt the same way as you. Small, quiet and incredibly charming. Thanks for stopping by.

You captured it in a beautiful way despite its small size

small when viewed, when entered the camera the charm is extraordinary. Thank you dear for your beautiful comment♥️

I had a fly with a similar camouflage land on my hand yesterday. It looked to me like it was eating something off of my skin. Not sure what.

Wow that's very interesting. Usually flies land on the hand, it is likely that they suck sweat from our skin. Some flies are indeed very interested in such things, especially house flies. Thank you for sharing your most beautiful experience, my friend. Have a nice day.

Oh, makes sense, it's probably attracted to the sweat, thank you.
