The Boss I Thought I knew; LOH Contest #275

in Ladies of Hive8 days ago

Hello, @ladiesofhive
It another beautiful time to share our experiences and am happy to be here #ladies
Naturally , i have a very open mind for people, and i rarely judge people at first sight because everyone deserves a chance to correct their wrongs or their past stories. So i have always told myself not to judge people too quickly. Knowing that first impressions can be deceptive but I prefer to relate with someone for a while before deciding who they truly are.

When I first started working under my boss, she was everything I thought a good leader should be. She was calm, organized, and confident. I admired her. She corrected me gently and praised me openly when I did well. Sometimes, she would even say, “Others should learn from you.” Hearing that made me feel valued and motivated.

Time past and we all enjoyed our work space but after fews year i was pregnant for my second child and When I told her I was pregnant, she smiled and was happy for me , in her words she said, “That’s good news.” She even advised me to take care of myself and avoid too much stress. I went home that day feeling relieved and grateful. I truly believed I had an understanding boss.

But slowly, things began to change.
It started with small comments like, “Pregnancy is not sickness,” said with a light laugh. If I rested briefly, she would remind me that there is work to do. She began visiting our unit more often, watching closely. My greetings were no longer warmly returned. The same woman who once recommended me now looked at me with suspicion.

Then, one afternoon, she walked in and said inspectors were coming. She announced that I was not meant to sit. I was meant to be active. Before I could process it, she ordered my chair be taken away. Everyone was surprised. I had never neglected my duties, pregnant or not.
That moment hurt more than I expected.

Sometime, people celebrate you until your growth or blessings make them uncomfortable. It is surprising, especially when it comes from someone older, someone who has experienced life, someone you expected to understand womanhood and pregnancy. You would think a married woman with grown children and grandchildren would show empathy.Instead, I discovered a different side of her.
Still, I continued to do my work well. Even without a chair, even with pregnancy. That experience taught me that time reveals what first impressions hide and sometimes, the smile you trust changes when your life begins to blossom.

Thanks to the @alessandrawhite for putting up this topic for me to share my life experiences.
Thank you for stopping by my blog, i remain @pascalukandy

You know @pascalukandy, sometimes people put on a different face when you first meet them. I've been in a situation such as you experienced. The bottom line is jealousy for one reason or another. And there's absolutely no reason for it. You were right to see for yourself a person's worth an intent. Life throws us many curve balls. You handled your situation with dignity. Bravo. Thanks for sharing your story. Glad I stopped by.

Take care and have a good rest of your week.

Oh well, I really appreciate you for stopping by. Yes, people are sometimes so unpredictable and happy I survived it. My baby is now a big boy.

That's awesome it all worked out.

Very truly said. Sometimes people tend to show their value very soon, when they find us a little week. But it was nice reading to know you are an hardworking and energetic teacher, which meant you are sure to earn a better job than here. Good days yet to come. Take care of your health.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Yes I try as much as possible to stay peaceful when handling those sets of humans and happy I survived it.
