Some of the countries of Middle East have very less tolerance for rains. The cities are not designed in a way where it can withstand too much of rain. In these places first of all it does not rain much. In the whole year it may rain for 2 to 3 days and hence there is not much of provision. But in the last few years there have been efforts here in Oman to build infrastructure that can handle the flooding if it happens. Especially after the cloud seeding programs have started.
Yesterday there was a weather forecast of heavy rains. The forecast are always accurate here in Oman, but normally what happens is it will rain for some time and stop. Yesterday through the day we had heavy rains and in no time many parts of the city got flooded. We had Nowruz celebrations to attend at one of our friend's place and were wondering if it would be a good idea to step out. We checked the condition of that particular road and it was decent so then we went ahead. One of our friend's they were on a day outing and returning back and their care got stuck in the water as that road was flooded badly. They had to call the towing van and get the car out.
As far as I am indoors I love and enjoy rains and the gloomy weather that happens with it. Here the sun is always very bright so days like this it feels like soft and soothing. My friend who had organized the party at her place was also skeptical because they had a power failure due to some electrical problem with the rains. She had invited almost 50+ people and everything was arranged so it was not that easy to cancel. By evening the heavy rains stopped and it was only drizzling, the power also got restored so we went ahead with the celebrations.
Clicked some pictures from my balcony in the afternoon time. I love this kind of weather.

Within 15 minutes of rains the flooding has started

These pictures my friend sent from her home, where there was too much flooding

This is what a half day of rains can do to my city :-( On the news today I am hearing of some accidents also which is very sad.
Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸
