Yet again, participating in the perpetual weekly episode of Shadow Hunter/SMASh content round #382.
Today, I captured the shadow of my wooden bed integrated with a delicate mosquito net stand. This bed is more than 50 years old. So it's a time-tested asset for us. This bed is quite sturdy and the place for my rest and dreams.
The intangible shadow has a close resemblance to dreams, where the mind wanders.
Shadow is nothing but the presence, absence, and transience of existence-- that invites a deeper contemplation.
Everything around us that is solid and has a physical presence has an ephemeral counter-- the shadow.
The shadow merges with the bed and evaporates and appears subject to darkness and light.
Shadow is not an illusion, nor a distortion, but rather a partial truth that emerges and is shaped by light. That comes down to the question of what we perceive as real is nothing but a by-product of fleeting conditions of circumstances, time, and space.
We see the shadow or rainbow when the known and unknown make an affair with each other.
The stillness of this bedroom and the profound shadow being printed upon the wall with the presence of light whispers about the duality of Nature, the universe, and the whole existence.
The mindful capture of these ephemeral shadows takes us to the dimension of -- presence defined by absence. The presence of shadow & its contour is defined by the absence of light.
The shadows jerk us into reality to ponder upon the duality of life and this whole existence-- presence-absence, what we are-what we are not, light-darkness. These pairs do not constitute a dichotomy; rather, they are complementary pairs. Let's appreciate it.
To be continued........
Thank you.
