Hello, #Vibes family. Another week and another opportunity to share and exchange ideas within this wonderful musical experience to which our friends @lordbutterfly, @verbal-d, and @silentscreamer invite us.
The theme of this new edition is a pleasure and a privilege for me, another opportunity to try covering the music I prefer and that I find extremely motivating.
The 1930s and 1940s were golden decades, especially within the American music scene. Jazz and blues took pride of place, and the greatest performers of both genres shone with total mastery. Indeed, one of the gems of the 1930s is the one I'm proposing to you this time. Written by Cole Porter, Night and Day is one of the best songs and is the one I propose; first performed by Fred Astaire as part of a Hollywood musical, it has also been covered by Sinatra, Billie Holliday, Tony Bennet, and adapted into a bossa style by Sergio Mendez.
This is a song that bases its plot on the theme of love, highlighting the passion, desire, and inevitability that emerge from a deep feeling, recreated in poetic images within the text. These images are supported by sound to generate effects and convey the power and sense of omnipresence of love through the repetition of phrases, a love that knows no limits in space or time. This description also represents the urgency and desperation within the sensorial atmosphere.
Of the versions, I selected the one by my diva, Ella Fitzgerald, and I try to give myself this opportunity, which I hope will be enjoyable for you.
Until the next song.
May the music always be with you. Hugs of light!!!

Lyrics/ Letra
Night & Day
Cole Porter
Like the beat, beat, beat of the tom tom
When the jungle shadows fall
Like the tick, tick, tock of the stately clock
As it stands against the wall
Like the drip, drip, drip of the raindrops
When the summer shower is through
So a voice within me keeps repeating
You, you, you
Night and day you are the one
Only you beneath the Moon and under the Sun
Whether near to me or far
It's no matter darling
Where you are
I think of you
Night and day
Day and night, why is it so?
That this longing for you
Follows wherever I go
In the roaring traffic's boom
In the silence of my lonely room
I think of you
Night and day
Night and day
Under the hide of me
There's an oh such a hungry yearning burning
Inside of me
And this torment won't be through
Till you let me spend my life making love to you
Day and night, night and day
