Hello everyone. How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. It's been about 2 years, my wife and I planned to visit the temples in our country. Things are going as our planned. And we visited almost 100 temples. The temples we visited were small and large temples, rural and city temples, famous and unfamous temples. Most of these temples are temples close to home. And early this month, we had the opportunity to visit another temple in the rural community. This temple is a small temple with not much area. This temple is called Wat Saeng Mongkol. I have no information about this temple. Even though I tried to search information about the temple.
Wat Saeng Mongkol is located on the roadside (Highway 107) in Ping Khong Subdistrict, Chiang Dao District. And the temple is located in a rural community area among nature. There are mountains surrounding the temple. Before I took my friends to see the atmosphere in the temple, I took everyone to see the atmosphere outside the temple.
I parked my car outside the temple. There was a temple sign in front of the temple. The temple sign is a simple sign made of wood.
But there is a large entrance arch, looks great. The arch has 8 pillars and there are lion statues inside the arch.
In addition, on the side of the temple sign there is also a large statue of a monk. This monk is a famous monk in the northern of Thailand. But this monk died many years ago.
Inside the temple there is only a buddha image hall (viharn) and a section containing the monks' living quarters. This buddha image hall (viharn) looks new and beautiful. The buddha image hall (viharn) is made of bricks and spread cement on bricks, Decorated with stucco patterns in the style of Northern Thai art (Lanna art). And there are two green serpent statues on the railing of the entrance to the buddha image hall (viharn).
Even though Wat Saeng Mongkol is small, but my wife and I enjoyed this temple. And happy with the new experiences on this trip. These are the stories and photos I want to share for this post.
