Splinterlands is a pretty complicated game with interesting battles, with all the options available. This is a part of the weekly social media challenge for Splinterlands. This week is about a great fight where I won because I used Daarg Deadblast.
Featured cards
Daarg Deadblast is a Rebellion water splinter that costs 6 mana. It has the ability opportunity and ambush from the very first level. At level 2, it learns poison and at level 5, it learns slow. As a support monster with the weapons training ability, This card is great once it reaches level 2. The poison ability can help you deal some decent damage in fights.
Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The ruleset this time is Reverse Speed and Healed Out. This means that the speed order is reversed and no healing abilities can be used. I can use only deathsplinter, and I have 54 mana available.
Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
---|---|---|---|
Dolfar Darflak | 3 | Summoner | |
Mantaroth | 11 | 1st | Shield and Armored Strike |
Thraghun | 9 | 2nd | Reach and Cripple |
Sorrow Harvester | 7 | 3rd | Weaken |
Chaos Jailer | 5 | 4th | Ambush, Poison, and Opportunity |
Deep Delver | 7 | 5th | Rust |
Black Widow | 8 | 6th | |
Total Mana: | 50 |
I use Dolfar Darflak as my summoner because it was the highest-level summoner I had available. Mantaroth is my first tank with shield and armored strike. After that is my backup tank Thraghun with reach and cripple. Sorrow Harvester with weaken is my third monster. Chaos Jailer is my 4th monster for its abilities, and I have two ranged monsters at the end. One of the ranged monsters has rust.
My strategy is to tank the attacks with my tank and backup tank. While that happens, the rest of my monsters will deal damage. I have multiple different abilities, such as poison, rust, and weaken, to debuff my opponent. I used quite a few level 1 monsters because I wanted to make sure that my cards didn't have that much speed due to the reverse speed ruleset. I still think that Chaos Jailer is nice to use despite having 3 speed due to the poison and ambush though.
Round 1
At first glance, I think that this match can go either way. I don't like all the taunt monsters on my opponent's end, and the magic monsters can be quite deadly. It will depend on how fast I can take out those magic monsters to reduce the damage that I will take.
Round 3
My opponent is down to three monsters left, and his last magic monster is poisoned. At this point, the match is over, and it is my win because the poison will finish off the last monster, and my opponent won't have any more monsters left to deal damage. Overall, poison did take a while to land, but it did last on both of the taunt monsters over the course of the match, and this made the fight easier.
I ended up winning a few rounds later.
Conclusion
The battle this time did play out as I expected. My opponent played out a heavy magic damage lineup, but I was able to win the match because magic monsters attack slower due to the reverse speed ruleset. At the same time, the support abilities made it possible for me to win the match without too many issues. Chaos Jailer did a great job this fight because the poison landed on three monsters, and this let me deal some extra damage. By removing the magic monsters, I was able to reduce the damage taken and win the match without as many issues.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
