Splinterlands is a pretty complicated game with interesting battles with all the options available. This is a part of the weekly social media challenge for Splinterlands. This week is about a great fight where I won because of Goblin Psychic.
Featured cards
Chaos Dragon is a dragon monster that costs 14 mana. It starts with scattershot and flying. It learns blast at level 2 and blind at level 3. I have this card at level 2 so it has up to blast.
Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is Noxious Fumes, and Super Sneak. This means that all monsters start off poisoned, and all melee monsters gain the sneak ability. There is also 56 mana available, and I can choose water, earth, death, or dragon splinter.
Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
---|---|---|---|
Drake of Arnak | 4 | Summoner | +1 armor |
Elven Defender | 8 | 1st | |
Djinn Muirat | 9 | 2nd | Void Armor |
Grimbardun Smith | 6 | 3rd | Immunity |
Witch of Warwick | 5 | 4th | Life Leech and Bloodlust |
Venari Marksrat | 3 | 5th | Martyr |
Chaos Dragon | 14 | 6th | Scattershot and Flying |
Total Mana: | 49 |
I use Drake of Arnak as my summoner for the +1 Armor. I have Elven Defender as my tank because it has high health and decent armor to tank hits. Then I have Djinn Muirat with void armor as my backup tank. My third monster is Grimbardun Smith with immunity if I need to outlast my opponent. Then I have Witch of Warwick with life leech and bloodlust. My 5th monster is a martyr monster, and my last monster is Chaos Dragon. Since this is a bronze brawl, my chaos dragon won't have blast, but it will work well against the melee monsters.
Round 1
At first glance, I think that this match can go either way, but I have a slight advantage because I have an immunity monster. It's too bad that my magic damage takes a hit due to my opponent's summoner, but marytr should buff up two of them after the first round.
Round 3
I fast-forwarded to round 3 because I was trading blows. My opponent only lost 1 monster and I have lost two, but I am focusing down the high health monster. My immunity monster is still safe. At this point, I think I have this match won. My opponent will lose quite a few monsters in 2 turns, so it will depend on whether or not I can last long enough.
I ended up winning this match a few rounds later because I was able to outlast my opponent. Chaos Dragon dodged quite a few attacks, and having him in the last spot helped me quite a bit. The extra damage added up over time.
Conclusion
The battle this time played out how I wanted it to. The high health on Chaos dragon combined with the flying ability made it a great tank to deal with all the melee monsters. This let me focus down my opponent, and since my opponent had no way to negate poison damage, I won by outlasting my opponent. The martyr buffing up the last two magic monsters helped out in buffing the damage that I had.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
